It's been a while...but we're going back! Halloween 2017 help!

Hello! Hope everyone is well!!!

It's been 20 months since our last DLP visit, and I've felt every last one of those months! I almost didn't get through Feb half term without shaking, having DLP dreams and telling everyone "this time last year..." whilst breaking down sobbing!

So after much deliberation, we have decided to go back in 2017, initially we were going to do our usual Feb trip but it is time we did Halloween (our favourite holiday!) so are looking to book 4 nights 5 days in Oct half term next year.

I know there are lots of changes afoot...and prices seem to have increased dramatically in the new brochure. So, any hints or tips to get the best deal we can for next Oct?
I really want to stay in the DLH but it is 1k more than Sequoia so I have almost talked myself into booking that instead. Will any better deals come up for the DLH (currently 2 nights free)? What are the perks of Golden Forest rooms and how much more is it usually to stay there?

We are no longer in the shareholders club (stupidly sold my shares when we were moving house) and the breakfast thing has thrown us a bit. We like to eat at Inventions and Auberge so not sure what the best option is for food.

Also, what changes should we expect? 25th anniversary news? Changes to ride/characters and systems etc?

If you go for Golden Forest room, you will have breakfast included in the price plus drinks/snacks in the lodge...

and if you want to pad premium vouchers so they cover your restaurants it will be less as they will reduce price of the breakfast that if you would add the same vouchers to your standard room at DLH - hope this makes sense

you probably will have to make some dummy booking for each room with and without meal vouchers and it will give you a better idea...

Welcome back! You can find out the prices for Golden Forest with and without meal vouchers by doing a dummy booking, just select a different room type.

We're looking at going back for Halloween next year, although looking at early October, it will be more than 5 years since our last visit so we will really notice the changes!

Thanks Elaine! I figured the dummy booking for Golden Forest last night and the difference is more than affordable, so it looks like it may be the way to go.

Is Sequoia going to live up to expectations after staying at DLH for the last two trips? I REALLY want to stay at DLH again, especially for Halloween...but when it is 1k more and we are saving for a new kitchen, not sure how I could justify that.

Because we get breakfast included at GF it makes the meal plan much better value, especially as we would like to eat at Inventions and Auberge (maybe more than once if we have the vouchers!) Rosebug asked this morning if Auberge and Inventions have Halloween characters during Halloween? Does anyone know the answer to this?

I remember reading that last year (or maybe a year before?) there were Halloween characters at Inventions for Dinner on the 31st and it was still regular price but Halloween characters where not confirmed before the meal ... and I have never hear about having any seasonal outfits at Auberge but read something that Elsa and Anna might be coming there soon...
