It's Back-January Trip-A-Day Contest!

Since the problems with the enter button seem to come and go, I wonder if that is on purpose. Maybe the site can only handle so many submissions. When the "que" is full, it pauses the contest until some entries are processed. If this is true, then the latter part of January (when fewer remember to enter) should see fewer "enter button" issues.

It's probably more associated with Disney promoting the contest more this year. With the influx of people submitting entries, the site is probably struggling to keep up. Not to mention hundreds, if not thousands of people hitting the refresh button 4-5 times to have the button appear. It's hell on the database to pull that much information, that many times, at the same time.

I wonder if there will be significantly less submissions today since everyone is having problems making the "enter" button appear! I used someone's suggestion and went to the Spanish site. Ironically, the "enter" part and all the terms and conditions were in English :confused3. Where does Disney get these IT people?!! Anyhow, hoping our chances are increased because of fewer submissions today!

Here's a weird one that I wonder if it'll work.

We already have a cruise and DVC stay booked (in Sept) so I thought if we won we'd tack onto the existing reservation. Do you think they'd be OK booking air in and almost 2 weeks going by before our actual hotel stay between the cruise and DVC stay we already have booked?

Additionally anybody know if existing AP holders were able to put the value of the ticket toward an AP renewal which we were going to do while at WDW in Sept?

I don't think these are anything you should be worrying about until you win with the odds so slim. That's like asking if you wonder if Mega Millions will let you split your winning jackpot into two different bank accounts

Like cattywampus posted, there was no problem extending our trip. My aunt just told the lady who coordinated everything what day we wanted to leave and she booked the (free) flights. My aunt and I booked the extra flights.

We were told we could not add the DDP but that costs us more than paying OOP so we wouldn't have done that anyways.

And yes, your under 3yo would be free and would not count in the room occupancy :goodvibes

Oh good to know. Not that I expect to win (I never win anything), but glad that we'd all count. Though, we would need an extra flight (my littlest will have just turned 2) and I'd be concerned about us all being on the same flight (since obviously he can't fly on his own).

You would just need to book the extra airline seat as soon as Disney books the other four tickets. They book at about 90 days out so you would have plenty of time before the flight was at risk for selling out.

Even if you don't expect to win, it is still fun to dream and plan :goodvibes I definitely do not expect to win but I'm enjoying thinking I might :cool1:

Nothing wrong with asking, if you have no info to share why bother replying? :confused3

I can't see why it would be a problem to have the flights spread out. It still should cost them the same amount of money. Plus, you are spending money at Disney (with DVC stay and I assume a Disney cruise?) and the longer you stay the more money they get from you, so I would assume that you would be fine. That would be quite a vacation :thumbsup2 No idea about the tickets ... wish we went often enough to be AP holders though ...
Have fun dreaming about the win. I know I am :goodvibes

And today everything was fine for my submission.

I'm sure tomorrow will be another story....

If anything, this contest and entering it is amusing.

Grrrr... I am not even sure my submission went through. I clicked enter and then I got the error message. I tried again and I got the thank you message but under that was the error message....so who the heck knows if it ever entered me or not.:confused3

My husband had no issues entering today. At least one of us is entered.

I tried mine this morning and got an error message. Tried again and got another error message. Tried again and got the message saying I had reached my maximum submissions for the day. So I'll just have to assume it got in.
