It's Apple Season!

I love Macintosh apples, but they're really hard to get here. I know we can grow them on the West Coast because I grew up with a tree in my yard. Why are they so hard to find here?

I like to make applesauce, but I prefer to use Macintosh! I can sometimes find them at a bigger market in the next town over at this time of year, so I guess I'll go there soon.

Golden Delicious and then honey crisp. Last year a friend of ours who owns an orchard went to Russia to adopt a child. They got the call to go during apple season, so my family and a bunch of their other friends and family members helped run the orchard. Hard work, but we had a great time!

Stayman and jonathan are my faves although I like most. I never have tried a honey crisp, never even seen one around here. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled!

MacIntosh are my favorites, but I also enjoy Gala apples. I love caramel apples, too!

Yes! Those are my abosolute fave apples!

After I tried apples other than the standard Red Delicious, I could never go back.
Most of those just taste like sawdust to me.

But, I also love Granny Smith's, Honey Crisps, Galas, Fujis, Braeburns, Jonagolds...

I love apples!

I've never heard of Stayman's. I'll have to look for those.
