So I am sitting here, enjoying my cereal, looking outside and it looks gorgeous! The sun is out, the sky is clear and blue. Its the kind of setting that makes you want to get dressed and spend your entire day outdoors. But its all an illusion.....The sun and sky are just trying to lure you out in order to make you turn into a brilliant shade of lobster red in 2 min flat. Not to mention that it is likely in the 90's already with a heat index in the 900's. The humidity is so thick you get a second shower just walking to your car. Yep, its summer in south florida and its time to hibernate until fall.

I can imagine why you would want to hibernate. We were in FL once in late June and I could not stand the humidity! I vowed never to go back after May! People think I'm nuts when I saw that I would not even take a free trip in July or August...just can't handle humidity. I hope you are still able to enjoy your day anyway;)

While we are not in the 90's yet today, it is at 84% humidity and with that means severe weather on the way and we are still recovering from our massive tornado outbreak just a few days ago (not us specifically but our state), including 3 EF4's.

It is going to be unbearably hot here today. I plan on staying inside and working on some house projects with DS, but DD is at the barn all day for lessons and I am afraid she is going to fry. I covered her in sunscreen this morning and sent the bottle with her. Hopefully she will remember to have her friends reapply.

It's pouring rain here. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the kids.

It is HOT and STICKY here, too. :headache: DS has a Babe Ruth game tonight that I'm not looking forward to.

Even though we have central air at home, I think we'll head to the movies to have popcorn for lunch and see Toy Story 3. :goodvibes

Tucson chiming in here. Today we're going for a high of 102. Wednesday a high of 105 and Thursday a high of 107. Then Friday it should "cool down" to 103, but back up to 105 for Saturday. However, there is hardly ever any humidity here, just that "dry heat" that Arizona is famous for.

Even though we don't have the humidity, hot is hot. It's like stepping outside and into an oven. An oven where the light has been left on (the sun here shines brightly almost every single day).

The nice thing about being in the desert though, is that the early mornings and late evenings in the summertime are very nice. Once the sun goes down, the air cools off and it is my favorite time of the day.:) And after suffering through a summer of very hot days, the weather the rest of the year can't be beat.:cool1:

But I agree, like Florida, summertime here is the time to hibernate!

I have read a lot of threads on The Dis recently about Florida and the weather. I am shocked at the people that say the weather is fine here until August when it becomes unbearable. :confused3 Really? I just took the dogs for a 10 minute walk and I feel like I need to jump back in the shower. I hate summer in FL!

Sometimes I let them go out and play in the rain. Depends how many days straight we have spent indoors! ;)

I also love having the Wii. We will probably spend a couple hours playing together. Air conditioned!

Sure, June and July are great compared to August! ;)
