Its all about Control

I was wondering how many people out there know someone who is controlling? You know they have to have a say in everything.No matter what has happened to you they had it happen to them 1st. no matter what you get they already had it and have found something better?

I know someone just like this and it drives me nuts !

My MIL! Has to be in constant control and hates it when she's not. She's a total control freak and FIL lets her get away with it! DH doesn't want much to do with her. It's sad but true!

At least they live far far away and we have caller ID.

My son-in-law's mother. He's 35 now, and she still feels like she gets to make all of the decisions for him, and DD by extension. Last year she bought them cemetary plots next to hers without asking! We're taking the family on a DCL cruise followed by WDW, and she's trying to talk them out of going!

He's an only child, plus his parents used to own a series of bars and clubs in the area, and until recently he's always worked for them. I don't know if those things have anything to do with it, but I have my suspicions. Did I mention he's 35?

We bite our tongues, thinking it will get better. But it doesn't seem to. Of course, us saying something would only make things worse.

My dad's a control freak. The only colleges he thinks I should look at are the ones that he thinks of (Penn State, UCLA, Lafayette, Bates). He hates the ones that I come up with. Problem is the ones he thinks are "perfect" for me are not. They're too big, or too small, or I could never get into them. The biggest is all but one are way too far from home. But anything that's my idea isn't good enough. He wants it his way or no way. He doesn't listen at all.
