On Saturday, Lois and I went to a nearby farmers' market. Using my typical "guy" fashion sense, I wore the t-shirt on the top of the pile (purple GKTW). We went to one stand that sells milk in glass bottles (if you are of a certain age, you know what that is). As we approached, the guy behind the counter said, "We love that place." It turns out that his son is a cancer survivor and four years ago Make-A-Wish sent them to Orlando (the Village was full, so they stayed at the 'Beach Resort').

First, the moment proved why we support the mission.

Second, has anyone else had this kind of moment?

I haven't, but that would be awesome....

Yes! Last year I was having dinner with a friend and explaining GKTW to her (I was about to make a big leap so I could be a regular volunteer there!).

We were at a small restaurant in NYC and, like so many fine eating establishments in New York, the tables were crammed close together and our neighbors were practically on top of us. As I was talking, a woman next to me looked over and said, "Did you say Give Kids The World? I've been there! My sister was given a wish trip 10 years ago -- we had the best time, and today she is cancer-free!"

It is always wonderful to hear about people who have had magical GKTW experiences!

I found out that a friend from High school spent a week there with his family whose daughter was granted a wish. He said it was a wonderful place!!

On our first trip in 2003, on our flight out there were some Wish kids. I bet they had a great trip.
