We've made plans for our next Disney World trip!

My family made our first trip to Disney in August, 2006. We went back again in December, 2007. Now, our next excursion is going to be in December, 2009 and I can't wait!

My infatuation with Disney World is the subject of a lot of amazement around our house. My wife is a nut for anything Disney, particularly Pooh related. My oldest stepdaughter is also a huge Disney fan, and my 8 year old son also loves the characters. I, on the other hand, have always had a much more casual interest.

Until we made our first trip to Disney World!

Now, it has become my ultimate source of enjoyment. This is kinda contrary to my whole demeanor, as I was a professional wrestler for over 20 years, and generally speaking, I'm not one given to enjoying things that don't have a violent or somewhat bizarre slant to them.

When we hit Disney, however, I become the biggest, goofiest, most sinister looking kid on the playground!

My wife thinks it's funny that I spent so much of my life snarling and growling at fans and pummeling other wrestlers with chairs, bats and boards, but I become a total little kid as soon as we set foot on Disney.

The first time we went, we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and it was excellent! The second time, we were at All-Star Movies, and it was fine, but it was during the Pop Warner thing and that was a bit of a distraction, as the kids (and some of the adults) were overbearing and annoying... Of course, it did very little to prevent my total enjoyment.

This time, we're staying at the Poly. Obviously, it costs more, but I don't care. It's something I really want to do, so I'll just be putting in extra hours in my side business between now and December '09 to pay for it.

As soon as '09 reservations are available, I'll be online checking in and getting even more excited.

This time, my wife, my stepdaughter, my little boy and my new grandson (he'll be 22 months old then) will be with me.

So, if any of you happen to be at Disney in December '09 (the week AFTER the Pop Warner thing) and you see a big, bald freaky looking guy laughing like a little kid, feel free to say Hi! :)

Heh, I understand where you are coming from bro'

I am a nerdy 'study' type who has worked in a technical industry for almost 30 years.

We used to have vacations in Culture places like Italy, Spain, Greece, China, India................but then we took the kids to WDW for the Milenium Celebrations.

So if you see a bald 6ft, 200lb geek with tears in his eyes and a family in tow, during August 08, feel free to shake his hand. This is our 7th trip

Thats what's so great about Disney, no matter who you are, you can be yourself. My husband is a big guy who doesn't wrestle but watches it every week and he's not your "disney" type. But come to find out, he loved Disney too so every time we vacation, we HAVE to go there! I'm so glad my DH is a disneygeek like me! My parents took me when i was 3 but I don't remember it. When i went with my senior class in 2001, I was in complete awe! I wanted to see EVERYTHING multiple times but there wasn't time. Luckily a month later I went to DL with my family and that quenched some of my Disney thirst until my next trip.

Since then, whenever we try to decide where to go for our next trip, maybe skiing, maybe California, you know, some place NOT disney for a change, we can't do it. We keep dreaming about Disney and we catch the Disney bug and then it's hopeless. We end up right back where we started and I don't even know why we think about going anywhere else since we love DIS so much! We're going in Jan 09 and we CANNOT wait!! We don't have kids yet so it's nice to be able to roam freely but if we ever have kids, I know I want to be a "Disney family" that goes to the parks every few years at least. We're hoping to save up for a DVC so hopefully our disney dreams will come true.

Congratulations on your trips and I hope you guys have a blast. I mean, I'm a woman and therefore probably a little more emotional than you guys but I cry during Soarin and Wishes so I think I might have you beat! Here's hoping ya'll have a great time!

It really is amazing the effect the place can have on a person. It is so easily hands-down my favorite place to be.

Our last trip, this past December, we were able to take my mom with us. She is 71 and had never been to Disney. She LOVED the trip, and said it was the best time of her life. The memory that will stay with me, however, was when I took her on Soarin'.

She was transfixed on the ride. When the ride ended and we got out of our seats, she looked at me, almost misty-eyed and with the expression of a 5-year-old just discovering the world, she said, "We HAVE to do that again!"

It's something I'll always remember.
