It's a done deal! We've got a new HOME!

The paper work came back today! We've got an "0.8759 % interest in Unit 6A" at SSR (400 points) and couldn't be more excited.

We decided to go for it while crusing on the Magic before Christmas. Instead of a discount on the cost per point we took their offer of 300 bonus points to be used before the end of April, so in March we'll be taking a group of 4 adults and 5 kids to OKW for a few days. Yippie!

We only wish we'd done this sooner, with what we've spent at DVC resorts over the last few years we'd have already broke even.

Canadian Tom, there were different "rewards" for buying into SS, and apparently one of them was a vacation. I remember reading something about $1-2000 vacation as a rebate. I'm sure someone else wil know the whole deal. We weren't in a position to buy, so I didn't pay much attention.

Yes, we can't use any of the points we bought until SSR is ready for occupancy, we were told some time in June. There were two different incentives we were offered. One was a discount on cost per point that amounted something like $1500-$2000 in our case. The other was a one time bonus of 300 points. The bonus points have to be booked by April 1 this year and used by April 30. We did the math and since I have vacation time coming up, my wife is self-employed, and the kids will be on spring break, we took the points. The sales guy was kind of surprised because almost everyone takes the discount. We’ve got a 4 night confirmation for a two bedroom for the kids and us and a one bedroom for extra family. We managed to burn up all but 17 of those points, too bad they can’t be banked.
