Biology coursework, not Geography.

Biology coursework is annoyingly boring -_- I'm looking at the diversity & abundance of species at the shallow & deep ends of a pond, and the abiotic factors that affect them. It's a mouthful O_o

Geography homework is to answer some questions from the textbook, and to write up a case study on coral reefs. I've already done the goods & services (which I might type up, but I can't be bothered), so I need to do the threats to a named reef, and how to conserve reefs.

Ah, I see
I just went back and looked and that makes sense haha
I was just panicing that the school lied to me about the no coursework lol
Am I really such a nerd that doesn't sound that boring to me? xD
I've thought about doing marine biology, though. So that would be kinda interesting to me..
My geography coursework that I did for like 7 months and only finished just before Christmas was like mind-numbingly boring. It was about the amount of traffic in city centres. :|

I'm looking forward to Psychology because it looks interesting..
Ditto for geography
But I'm kinda dreading Biology.. it looks really hard at A level >.<

It was interesting to do. It's just boring writing it all up. I'm up to 8 pages with 2,000 words... At size 12... And I need to write 1,000 more words. Rawr...

Psychology is pretty awesome. Geography is awesome. It depends on Biology. I'm doing well in it, and I didn't take it for GCSE, and i'm not taking Chemistry (which almost everyone in my class takes).

Today, we learnt about negative feedbacks for breathing. If you have too high of a CO2 level, then chemoreceptors in the medulla, aorta, or carotid muscles detect the changes and send an impulse to the ventilation centre in the medulla, which sends an impulse to stimulate the breathing muscles (diaphram & intercostal), and you start to breath deeper and faster.

That sucks then.

Well, my Biology teacher says I'll be able to do it as I get like A*s/As now but we did a sample A level lesson and omg. :/

Niiice.
The last thing we did was osmosis. It's like the one biology thing that confuses me. Probably because it's like diffusion, but it's from low to high instead of the other way around..
I still remember the definition of diffusion. We had to learn it off by heart. xD
Diffusion is the net movement of molecules from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration, down a concentration gradient. :]
And I remember the structure of a leaf, too.
Waxy cuticle, upper epidermis, palisade cells, spongy mesophyll with air spaces, lower epidermis with guard cells, waxy cuticle. In that order. xD
:cool2:

I'm only on page 19 of this bloody book! it doesn't help that it's utter crap so far, but still. -__-
How many pages does it have?
We don't ever have to read stuff in English..
We read Of Mice And Men and have a GCSE on it..
But that's only like 108 pages long and it's quite good anyway :]

128. :3 not too many i suppose.
well, it's for my welsh class, and we never have to read stuff there. just study poems, do mutations (:p) and have millions of asessment tasks. xD

in english we're reading Private Peaceful. woo. D:

Ohh.
This is gonna sound stupid is your Welsh class like English class but in Welsh or is it like learning another language like Spanish or something?

You'll do fine. What exam board are your A Level courses going to be then?

It's pretty much like English class, but we learn about the welsh language instead. If you're asking if I have Welsh class instead of English class, then no. I have English Classes and Welsh classes.

Thanks, I hope so (:
And I think it's AQA, though I do OCR at GCSE

Ah, that's what I thought xD
