1:39am now and I'm up! But only because I have folded laundry all over my bed that I have to put away before I can go to sleep.

Terribm... why not crack the windows for a bit and let the house air out? But my thought is if it happened during the day, and everyone is still fine, then no worries!

You could open a window or two to air out the house. Is the door closed to the basement? Also if you're reallly freaked you could call the fire dept. We had to call them once I was freaking thinking we had a electrical fire. It was only the smell you get when you first turn on the heat. Boy was I embarassed, plus it was the first day of school.

I install carbon monixed detectors,along with fire detectors,in houses and tell you what I have seen CM detectors going off way before FD.And this is cuased by normal cooking!!!!
