Hello! I could use some help with my itinerary, pretty please. 😁

My family lived 15 minutes from Disneyland for many years, and moved to Texas 5 years ago. We miss CA Disney and are coming to visit in October. We will have 2 park days, 10/6 and 10/7 (Thursday and Friday)

My original plan was DL on the 6th and DCA on the 7th. Then out comes the OBB calendar and throws me for a loop! While we were annual pass holders for double digit years before we moved, we never did a Halloween party. I couldn’t justly 5 annual passes and paying extra to get in the park. So now I’m torn and need help!

Option 1:
Original plan of DL on Thursday, DCA on Friday. 2 full park days, thinking DL on Thursday because maybe it won’t be as crowded as Friday would be.

Option 2:
Thursday at DCA and do OBB, no other park ticket. Friday do DL. I don’t want to pay for a park and the OBB on one day, so we would only have 3-11 at DCA.

So I’m torn…. Is OBB worth it? My kids are 13 and 17, so we wouldn’t do the little kid stuff. On a normal day 8 hours at DCA is more than enough time. But is it enough time for rides and OBB? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Is the Halloween party really worth it?? Help!

Thanks for reading, and I appreciate your feedback!

It depends on what your priorities are. If you really care about Halloween shows, characters and the trick o treat trails, then do OBB. But if you really just care about rides or stuff that's around normally, do regular tickets. You'll be waiting longer than usual for rides during the mix in period and trying to go on rides after OBB starts seems like a waste of the event ticket to me.

But another concern is that fireworks and Fantasmic may only run Friday to Sunday so doing DL on Thursday may mean skipping night shows.

Cruise through this thread from last year to see if the descriptions and reviews of OBB sound like it would be a good fit for your family: 2021 Halloween Time Superthread *September 3-October 31* *Oogie Boogie Bash Returns on Select Nights*
Posts about the first party start around page 17.

Agree with the pp that priorities are a deciding factor. The Halloween decorations and themed rides are available with regular park tickets. So you don't have to buy party tickets just to experience those things.

I didn’t even think about possibly missing Fantasmic by going to DL on Thursday. 🤦🏼‍♀️ We for sure want to see it. Thanks!!
