Hi Lynne, it is good to have a basic plan before you go but do not be surprised if you change it when you get there.

You seem to have all the parks covered.
To be honest we all have our own ideas about seeing the attractions and the more you go the more get used to knowing what to see and when to go.

The main comment I would have about your plan is that you 'may' possibly need more rest days, visiting parks day after day in Summer can be hard work sometimes, it will be hot after all.
Not that it won't be brilliant!!

I guess everyone has their own ideas so it is best to go along with what suits you best, I think it would be a good idea to stick with your plan for a couple of days and then just see how it's going - if you need to change it then do so.

We tend to plan the first couple of days and then just decide what to do on a daily basis.

Looks good so far. I personally wouldnt agree with needing rest days, Ive been in the summer, and as long as you have time out to sit and have a drink for ten minutes or so you'll be okay.

Okay perhaps next step on schedule is to think about, Priority seating(if you want to dine with Characters), and whether you want to see parades and fireworks etc.

This is a good way to start with a basic plan, and add to it as you gain more knowledge.Plans can always be changed wqhen you get there, but if you dont want to miss certain things it helps to write them down.

This is my first stab at an itinerary.

SAT : arrive late evening so prob just unpack and go to bed early.
SUN : Explore the area, find our bearings etc. also look for a suitable restuarant for a nice meal for my mum's 60th birthday on the tues(15th).
MON : Magic Kingdom.
TUE : Islands of Adventure/ Going out in the night for mum'm birthday.
WED : Seaworld ( late start as prob had a few too many the night before).
THUR : Animal Kingdom(early start)/ Epcot/ ps at crystal palace in MK/ Fireworks( not sure which park yet).
FRI : Universal.
SAT : Animal kingdom (again to see what we missed)/ MGM/ fireworks.
SUN : Islands of Adventure/ citywalk in the night.
MON : Blizzard beach or typhoon lagoon not sure yet/ shopping/ city walk or pleasure island.
TUE : WetNWild.
WED : Magic Kingdom/ another park we want to go back to.
THUR : Universal.
FRI : not sure yet
SAT : Go home : (.
Please let me know if that looks ok.
I have tried to fit everything in without killing ourselves (we have no kids with us just 3 big kids).

Another point to consider depends on wether you are staying in a disney property or not. If you are then look to take advantage of the parks early opening for guests. If you are not then try to avoid these days. You will find more info on the following link.

www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/earlyentry.htm

Also I try to avoid the water parks at weekends when they are bursting at the seams.

If you post where you are staying then you will get some feedback on things such as "a good eating place" for your mums 60th.

whatever happens it will be magic.

regards

Brian

Thanks for that tip brian. We are staying at the Cypress pointe in Lake Buenavista. Hope anyone can help on where to have a special meal in that area.

Don't Discovery Cove give you a free pass to SeaWorld-might be worth doing Seaworld on one of the days after D/C if that's the case and save on an admission charge.
Also unless Typhoon Lagoon is closed or you *want* to be on I-Drive that day for shopping too I'd personally drop Wet and Wild in favour of Typhoon Lagoon as it's different in a lot of ways to BB.
Other than that....sounds great :)

Lynne,

You might want to reconsider MGM on Tuesday as that is the park's early entry day for Disney resort guests and is likely to be busy. Also, I think water parks tend to be significantly busier at weekends, so you may need to make sure you arrive at opening time to make sure you get a good spot. Is this your first trip? Being really picky now, I think I might want to get my first taste of Disney before day 4 of the holiday. Other than that, it looks good and, as others have already mentioned, be prepared to be flexible when you actually get there.

Cheryl,

You will be awake at the crack of dawn on your first day and I always feel it's a lost opportunity not to do a park. You can get so much done in the first couple of hours after park opening (before the crowds really start to arrive) and later on in the trip, you might not feel like being at the park gates for opening time. Personally I wouldn't want to do water parks on consecutive days - they tend to be more relaxed days and so you are probably better slotting them in between park days.

Still think rest days is the way to go, we all have our different ideas , just have to do what will suit you ,for us the odd day of relaxing or a drive to the beach gives the holiday an extra dimension.

Florida is a great place but it's not all about the Theme Parks, you can do other things as well.

Being flexible with your plan, as I said earlier (and others also) is the key. Having a basic plan is good but doesn't mean you have to stick with it.

One thing I have noticed, is that you have Magic Kingdom down for a Monday, I would change to a Tuesday or Friday as MK can be very busy on Mondays, generally when the Americans visit Florida for a vacation the first park they go to is MK.

Having said that though, you could as suggested make this a 'rest day'...go on put your feet up for a bit ;)

Hi Lynne,

I was going to do an itenerary but I know we wouldn't stick to it so I am planning on putting together a Park Synopsis which will contain the park details/how long it takes to get there/opening and closing times/quitest days and details of the major rides in each of the parks - that wasy we can decide a day in advance what we feel like doing.
