My son has a few shirts that he picked out with decals/embroidery on the chest but now says they are too itchy. I turned them inside out and they are pretty rough in the embroidery section. Is there something I can do to make these shirts wearable for him. Would an iron-on patch work perhaps? Oh, fyi, his classroom is sooo warm that a tshirt is out of the question.

I think iron on's can feel rough as well. How about a tank style t-shirt instead?

Iron a piece of lightweight iron-on interfacing over the stitching. It is very soft if you tear the edges instead of cutting them with sissors before ironing it on. The edging will then fade into the fabric and won't give another itchy feeling. I've got a son who has exactly the same issue!
