Has any exchanged points for the Italian locations? We are looking into the Tuscan and Venice(Lido) options. We wouldn't be doing it until late 2009- 2010. Optimally I would love to do both back to back but how hard is it to secure this sort of reservation? Has anyone stayed in either of these properties and have an opinion?TIA.

I don't know the answer to your question, but would love to find out.

Are you only considering II exchanges, or the Club Cordial properties as well?

I would love to see any information on any of these choices.

BTW, the dollar is in the toilet right now, so the exchange rate is just awful.

We are considering both. We would love to do the Cordial property in Tuscany and the Interval property in Venice.

UGHHHH I know the dollar is just not doing well aginst the Euro. Gone are the days of travelling to Europe on the cheap. We were considering Asia for that reason but DH has never been to Europe and I have always wanted to spend some time in Italy so we are not going to let the dollar discourage us. We are going to try to budget accordingly- if possible:rotfl:

What about using them for an AbD trip to Italy. We are considering it for our 25th aniversary.

I agree to a certain extent. It would depend on how many people you are bringing. ABD is a lot of points. We are booked for the Viva Italia during value season and with an early booking discount it is still costing us 764 points for just two people. Now remember, that includes most of our food, admissions, and tours. Plus things like pasta making classes.

Right- it is just so many points. Plus we would like to stay for 2 weeks and be less "structured" although eventually an ABD tour is in our future because they sound so awesome. I just have to figure out if I would pay OOP or not.

Hi! We called for an exchange in January 08 for this summer, June 08 - and got it! We were shocked to receive the paperwork in the mail. From our perspective, it was very easy. We are staying 7 nights at the Interval in Viterbo. Cannot wait. If I had to do it over again, I would have shot for next summer giving us more time to save money, but you only live once. We are thrilled.

How many pts did this cost you? Would love to go to Italy before the oldest graduates from high school in 4 yrs!

Wow, that seems really reasonable. Can't wait to read a trip report when you get back!! Now, I just hope we can use miles for airfare!!
