Can someone help me? I help a great white wine in the Italy pavillion last week which was pretty sweet. I think it started with a "R". I wrote it down but can't find the scrap of paper!! Thanks!

I may no where be near what you are thinking..but just taking a stab at it. We had an AWESOME sweet sparkling white wine there a few years ago. It was called Moscato D'Asti made by Sarraco. It was in a dark green bottle. I went back the next year and they didn't have it anymore, but they could be selling it again. Could that have been it?

If not and you want to try that wine (which is also very sweet, there is one place I know of in the US you can get it at a good price (I buy like 5-10 at a time because it's so hard to get!). PM me if you want the website.

Or maybe...can you call Epcot and the Italy pavilion and ask one of the people there?

My first thought would be Reisling, but you'd have gotten that in Germany.

thanks all, I tried to find the number for the place but can't. It was definitely in Italy. I'll try the Moscato though, that sounds great too. Thanks!

Did it have a tiny bit of fizzy feeling on your tongue (frizzante in italian)?

Pinot grigio is a common inexpensive usually dry crisp white varietal from italy but it can be a bit fruity. Moscato is a refreshing light sweet (often frizzante) wine with a beautiful smell that can be really good before dinner or as a dessert. Prosecco is another similar dessert wine.

In the states people drink Asti <-- (brand name) spumante. I think its pretty gross; kinda like fizzy fruity soda pop, but wine is really personal and a lot of people like it. Find a really nice light moscato and compare.

I can't think of any italian "R" wine types, but "Orvieto" is a awesome medium dry style of wine from umbria that could sound like an R if the waiter said it.

Funny you just mentioned Rosa Regale..i just inventiried my wine rack and I had that in there! It's defintely a sparkling red wine. Asti Spumante isn't as good as Moscato D'Asti.

Is the name of the wine Arneis? That's the only Italian wine name that I could think of with an R sound.

Definitely no fizzy taste and definitely not Rosa Regale (been drinking that for a while at home). Definitely not Asti either. I think it might have started with a "R" but I could be totally off. It could have very well been Moscato. Thanks all for your help in solving this mystery!

I had a white wine from the Italian pavillion that I recall being somewhat sweet (not very). It was a pinot grigio/chardonnay blend from Banfi vineyards. I know there were about three other choices for white though, so this may not be the wine you had.

Is it Le Rime ? This is my favorite when I am in Italy ? It is a Chardonay - Pinot mix. I brought a bottle home last year.
