It wouldn't be spring without an Epcot F&G Festival! New pg 35

Hi Amy! I just started reading your PTR and have enjoyed reading the first couple of pages! I went to the last page and saw your most recent post and I feel for you and the week you've been having.

I hope Alex gets through these kidney stones with very little pain and that it won't happen again. Is Zach feeling better today? One of my little ones was sick earlier this week and it's so sad to see our children feeling bad.

We're also staying at the BC (in May) and I now if they were doing that work on the pool while we were there, I would be disappointed. But, like you said, it's an amazing pool and hopefully they'll get done quickly and you'll be able to enjoy every part of it!

Hope you're week improves!

Alicia

Oh, poor Alex. That sounds awful, no matter how short the time was.

Bummer on the pool being closed!! :(

Hi Amy!:goodvibes

Joining in! Sorry so late though...:guilty: But, I'm here and can't wait to read about all your plans!!:thumbsup2

I love the title of your PTR! I completely agree! We love the F&G Festival and we're sad that we are going to miss it this year! Yay!!:yay: for staying at the Beach Club...so exciting! It sounds like you picked a lot of great places to eat. I really want to try the HDDR. I've heard so many great reviews.:thumbsup2 Oh and my boys loved Disney Quest! You'll have a fun time.

So sorry to hear about Alex and the kidney stones.:sad2: I'm glad to hear he wasn't in pain for too long and hope the next ones pass just as quickly.

Poor Alex. I have heard about more and more young children passing kidney stones. It's crazy, but SO many people have them! I guess you will find out soon enough if he needs lithotripsy (the procedure where they break up the stones). I hope everything goes well with your appt tomorrow.

Sorry Zach was not feeling well today. Hope he feels better really soon.

I didn't realize it was just that slide that was closed. AT first, I thought it was the whole pool. So it could definitely be worse! I do love the BC and I only spent about 15 mins in SAB, but then again, I'm not a kid.

WOW!! That really was an awful week. Hope Alex is feeling better.
That stinks about SAB! Why didn't they do refurbs in Jan.?? when it's chilly.
I would be mad too!
Maybe they'll be done early. I heard about them working on the pool a WHILE ago on the BC/YC thread. How long will it be going on?

Poor Alex! I've had kidney stones on more than one occasion and they are the WORST! I'm glad he wasn't in too much pain for too long. :goodvibes

Sorry to hear about the pool issue. I'm glad that they boys like the alternative pool and you don't have to change plans. That would really throw a wrench in your planning. Pixie dust coming your way for an early finish and an open slide at SAB!

Hope you have a good doctor visit and that Zach feels better soon. Hang in there...only 36 more days and you can leave the real world behind for a while! ;)

Hi Missy! Sorry to hear you've had kidney stones too! Luckily Alex wasn't in pain for too long. It would be so hard to watch him deal with that! Good appointment today - I'll update on that shortly.

I've come to terms with the pool issue so we'll just hope for some pixie dust & the repairs to be done early.

:welcome: Thanks for reading!! Hopefully there won't be any more kidney stones!

Zach is all better - at school today & the nurse hadn't seen him at all. :thumbsup2

Hopefully all of the BC pool issues will be done by the time you are there. Have you stayed there before?

Hopefully the worst is over for Alex!

:welcome: Hi Angie!! So glad to "see" you!

I am so excited to stay at BC (even with the pool issue) and for all the other new things we are doing - including HDDR! Glad you guys enjoyed DQ - I'm sure my gang will love it.

Kidney stone update coming soon...

I was looking online for info on children & kidney stones and I had read that there seems to be an increase in cases. I wonder why? Update on our appointment coming right up.

Zach seems to have rebounded & has been at school all day! :thumbsup2

Yes - definitely a crazy week!

I guess the current BC/SAB issue is an emergency repair. I think they usually do refurbs in the winter but this was unexpected. :confused3

I hope they finish early. pixiedust:

It was kind of a strange appointment... We only saw the doctor for about 10 minutes, then his phone rang, he said he needed to take it and left. I guess he thought we were done... I wasn't sure. I guess we heard what we needed to hear but the abrupt end left me wondering if all of our questions had been answered. I think they were. :confused3 At least the questions he could answer.

Basically he didn't see any new stones on the ultrasound. The pediatrician thought there were, but I guess not. So he isn't the doctor we need... He said urologists deal with current stones that need help. He said we need a nephrologist - someone who helps figure out the cause of the stone & recommendations to prevent future problems. Sounds right to me! But I had hoped to have those questions answered today. Oh well...

They will call us with the info to set up that appointment. Hopefully it will be soon. So good news that there aren't any immediate problems to worry about but bad news that we have another doctor to see before we can get answers.

I hope to be back tomorrow with our Animal Kingdom update.

What a week!!!! That is a serious UGH all around. Calgon take you away!

I didn't even know kids could get kidney stones, that sounds awful.

You're right. That does seem like an abrupt ending to the appointment. Well it's great that he did not see any more stones on the ultrasound. :thumbsup2

Hopefully you will get in soon to see the doctor that you need to see.

I got Mickey mail today.:yay:

Glad to hear that he doesn't have any immediate problems with new kidney stones. I hope the next specialist is able to answer your questions. From what the doctor told me, most of the time you can adjust your diet to ward off the formation of future stones.

What a bizarre visit. I don't like being left hanging like that. Hopefully you will have answers at your next appointment.

How frustrating!! Hope you get an appt. soon. :)

Thanks everyone! :goodvibes It was a strange appointment, but the worst part is that they will get in touch with us regarding the next appointment with the nephrologist. I want to call YESTERDAY to set it up but I'm stuck waiting...

As I sit here obsessively checking the TA website for October hours & updates to the April hours, I finished our AK update! So here you go...

Closures: Nothing that I’m aware of at the moment…

What NEW things are we hoping to try this time:
Maharajah Jungle Trek! Zach got to check it out with DMIL in 2007 while the rest of us rode EE. I'm anxious to see it!!

Flights of Wonder
Parade – we’ve never been there in the afternoon so we'll see...

Dining:
Flame Tree BBQ - we all love this!
Yak & Yeti – Tim - Tim likes Flame Tree but Yak & Yeti is a nice change for him. He's the only one who likes it...

Up next: The rest of the stuff we'll be doing outside of the parks. And progress on my to-do list!

Love the pics from 07 & 09. We love Flame Tree also!! We will be having lunch there on our AK day as we will be having dinner at BOMA.:goodvibes

We do enjoy Yak & Yeti also but with eating at Boma at 5:00 I figured a small lunch would do.

What about the safari?? The boys must enjoy it also.

Amy, I've not deserted you...I've been following along; I just haven't had time with the way the DIS is acting to post. We are going to see our son and future daughter-in-law tomorrow and I will check back for updates on Monday.

We love Flame Tree too. We've never been to Yak&Yeti.
EE is our FAVE ride!!! (not DS14 though-he's a chicken) I think he's been on twice but won't go anymore. We'll see about this year.:confused3 I hope he does it! It makes me sad that he sits by himself waiting for us.
I don't remember the Jungle Trek I know my DS walked it with his grandparents one year too. I like the safari. DH and boys used to like it too, but now they can take it or leave. I know DH would rather leave it, but I can probably talk them into it again this year b/c my mom will want to go.;)
We've never been there for the parade either- my boys don't really like the parades anymore:sad2:. I feel like I have to force them to even sit through MSEP now. They are growing up to fast!!

We always ride the safari once but it's not one of the boys' favorites. I think it moves too slow & takes too long. :confused3

Hi Kathy! I know what you mean! One minute the DIS is fine, then it's crawling.

Flame Tree is definitely one of the best QS places at Disney. My boys are the same way with the safari - take it or leave it, but only after they've been on their favorites!

Good luck getting your DS14 on EE! We all love it!
