It Worked! It Worked! Heres what I did!....

Like many of you I have been trying and trying for the 'PIN".
Here's what I did:

1. 3 days ago I went into my logged into my account on the Walt Disney World website. I updated all the information in my profile.
2. I quoted all 3 levels of resorts for 3 different times of year (Oct, Aug June). LIVE chat came on...asked about special promotions for after June 2010. Said to keep checking...wished her a Happy New Year....to which se responded.. "We'll see ya real soon."...Got the exit survey..put in "not the best value"....waited until the morning..nothing.
3. Yesterday I went back in and deleted some of the Deluxe packages and quoted 1 more moderate and a couple of values in their place.All my quotes were for Aug. Got the exit survey and put in "not the best value".waited until this morning....nothing.
4. This morning I went back in and requested the 2010 planning DVD...then i quoted some packages for April and June. Got the exit survey and chose "other" and put ..."waiting for a PIN for last 1/2 of 2010."

5. Just got the email from Disney Destinations for the 40% off for most of 2010!!!:banana::banana: I don't know what 'triggered' the code...but email with the PIN was from my Animal Kingdom Lodge quote for August.

Congrats. I started doing saving vacations/deleting vacations 2 weeks ago but have never gotten the exit survey. I haven't gotten a pin either.

I also did the online chat with someone which drove me nuts because I knew more of the answers than they did and had to pretend I didn't know. LOL

My DH doesn't want to hear the word Disney anymore. :rotfl:

It took me about six weeks after saving a quote to receive a pin, so don't give up hope!
 
I just got a PIN this morning!!! :banana::banana: I got the one that offered 20%, 30% or 40% off a value, moderate or deluxe resort and just booked a 7 night stay at the GF for November 2010!! I'm so excited!! Here is what I did that I think made the difference: I've been registered on the Disney World website for over a year and I've saved several different packages and room only offers over the year and never received a pin, but 3 days ago I signed in to the Disney World website and clicked on "Update Profile", I had never done that before. Then I clicked on "Edit Personal Information" and at the bottom of the page it has boxes to check under Communication Preferences and none of them were checked so that's why Disney never sent me an email! Once I checked that I wanted to be contacted by email, phone, mail, etc. I got the PIN code 3 days later!! Hope that helps someone!

I think this is what made the difference for me too. Oddly enough they sent me the PIN again today.:confused3 Same PIN number, sent two days in a row? So whatever I *did* , I must have done it twice!

I followed your advice. I saved some trips two days ago. I received my first PIN codes today in 2 separate emails (each resort that the trip was saved for was different). My DS 6 even got excited. DH commented that he thought he may have gotten them before and didn't realize it. Good things looks can't kill...Now, I just have to decide when to go:cool1:

Thanks Buttercup for the advice. I just went in to check on my profile and there was nothing checked for communication under mine. I was wondering why I have not received emails in a long time. Hopefully I will get those discounts soon.

thanks for letting us know this. I also went into my profile and noticed i had nothing checked off and didnt even have my name or address filled in. Well i took care of that maybe i will get a code (my older daughter now wants to come along with her friend so now hoping to get a pin to use for their reservation)
