A friend sent me an invite the other day for a free month of Netflix, so I decided to sign up. Everything was great until today when I see a charge for $23 and change on my Visa bill, that is definitely not free!! I have sent them an email regarding it and hope to get it worked out, but it really ticks me off that they charged me when they were offering the service for a month free. If I hadn't checked my bill, I would have been none the wiser! That just ticks me off!
 
I hate when companies do that!

I was going to try Verizon's DSL for a month...free. That's what the woman told me that I initially spoke to. I received an e-mail to call them when I received the modem for instructions on installing. That person I spoke with told me what I would be charged monthly. I told him I was trying it for 30 days free. Ha! He said that "could be done" but they usually charge for the month. :mad: I told him I hadn't even opened the box and I was sending it back. :mad: :mad: What ever happened to ethics in the workplace?!!!! :mad: Liars!! :mad:
 
Although I don't have any personal experience with NetFlix, I did quite a bit of comparison research between them and the Wal-Mart DVD rental program.

I DO NOT want this to turn into a Wal-Mart debate. :scared1:

I found that, when the time comes, I'll probably go with the Wal-Mart rentals. It's a bit more flexable and their library of videos is just as good.

That's a pain to deal with. We have tried Netflix and didn't have a problem. Hope you get a credit in your next visa bill.
 
I'm so sorry!

We are a Netflix family, and got our first month free like advertised, I guess they just did it accidently. I always make sure and check those kind of things =)

When we were comparing, Walmart carried no new releases... which is what DH always has to have. Maybe they've changed, but they didn't when we checked it out a few months ago.

I hope you enjoy Netflix, we LOVE IT!
 
Are you sure it was a MONTH? When we joined earlier this year it was 2 WEEKS free. ????

I've had no problems with them at all. Even as a brand new customer....when the 10th movie or so never arrived in the mail, I thought for sure they wouldn't believe me. But no problems, they just sent me a replacement immediately.
