Wednesday 3rd May
Mum and Dad didn't fancy a day at Universal so took the I ride trolley down to the Premium Outlets and spent some time at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club.
Ric and I headed out first thing to Universal, we have been a few times and wanted to do both parks so we were only concentrating on our favourites. We got there a little before park opening and were admitted straight away. We headed straight for The Mummy which I had rode before but Ric hadn't. After this it was time for Men In Black, Ric's favourite. We were able to ride 3 times in a row as the park was so empty. We would have kept going if it wasn't for technical difficulties. Next onto one of my favourites ET, which I always find so cute when he says your name. Still nobody around until we got to Shrek. There was a little bit of a queue but still nothing really. This was good fun as always.
After Shrek it was around 11am so we decided to pop next door to Islands of Adventure. We went to the dining podium to book lunch at Mythos for 12 noon which was only an hour away. After that it was straight to the best ride in Orlando, Spiderman, only a 5 minute wait. Just how good is this ride, it's amazing! Next up was Jurassic Park which was a walk on. Dueling Dragons was closed
so we kept walking round to Mythos. This was a great lunch in a great restaurant. We both had tortilla soup to start which was yum and then Ric had risotto which is a speciality of Mythos and I had a chicken wrap which was good. For some reason we went straight on Cat In The Hat after lunch. The one ride which normally makes me feel a bit queasy somehow was fine on a full stomach. Now to another favourite, Hulk. I rode this alone as I would never get Ric on this in a million years (he doesn't know what he is missing!) again no queue so he didn't have to hold the bag for too long. Then a last ride on Spiderman before going back to the ranch.
This evening we had another restaurant that I was excited to try out, California Grill. We had booked an ADR for 8pm as we wanted to see Wishes from up there. We were seated with no wait but didn't get a table by a window unfortunately. I had a flatbread to start but can't remember what else. The meal was good but not as good as Artist Point. We went out onto the deck to watch Wishes and it was nice to have the music playing as we watched from up high.We also got to see the Electrical Water Pagaent
My Dad really likes fireworks but would have hated the crowds leaving the park even more so this was a good way for him to see the fireworks. Tomorrow is my birthday and we have an Illuminations Cruise booked so he gets to see more fireworks again without crowds.
