It really is a small world

I have been to Disneyworld 4 times (I know...not much compared to most people on this forum), and I have never been there without running into someone I know. It is usually someone I haven't seen in years. Does anyone else have this experience?

We are a town in VT of 879 people. We saw our neighbors in front of Mission Space.

When I used to be a travel agent, I would always run into clients. I would know they were here, but still......WDW is so large.

We have saw people we know in WDW on occasion in all the years we have gone. The one year we saw a family that was in WDW prior to my DD's Cheerleading competition. We both had to do our daughter's hair in corn rows and curls on the night before we left. You should have seen the looks DD got when we checked out of the Contemporary. People were really stairing. They ended up paying someone at their hotel to do it!

We ran into a friend of DH at the Poly bus stop once. :)

I have a friend like that who, no matter where he goes, seems to run into someone he knows to the point where it's almost scary!

I SWEAR I saw someone I haven't seen since my highschool days from my hometown by the monorail at MK once. She was a CM!!!!! I would LOVE to know if it was who I thought it was. lol

I ran into a student of mine in the TOT Lobby last Spring Break.

Isn't that odd how that works out? I mean, it's a coincidence alone that you would pick the same vacation destination at the exact same time of year, let alone being in the EXACT spot at the EXACT time and bump into each other!

I have had that happen; it's pretty freaky. Also, at amusement parks in general, many times I cross paths with the same person 4 or 5 times. Someone might catch my eye earlier in the day for some reason (unique article of clothing, hair style, etc.) and then it seems like I keep seeing them periodically in completely different parts of the park. Weird.

Last April I ran into a child I used to teach at daycare and his family. He wanted to know where one of the other teachers were, too cute!

In October, I almost ran into the people I used to nanny for. I avoided them like the plague, but I saw them.

This past February we ran into extended family members - initially when my father told my mother he saw them she thought he was crazy. Then we saw them in line for Philharmagic! My father is the president of the LL over here, and he ran into several parents in WDW as well. We were joking with him that he can't go anywhere without being recognized!

When I was a kid, 8th grade, my family went on a trip to Club Med in St. Lucia. It was a business trip for my dad, and luckily we were all able to go. Well, there was another kid from my class there the same week as we were! It was too funny. It truly is a small world.

I was in line at RNRC and was standing behind someone I knew through Little League and friends. I didn't know it was him till my friend and I heard his laugh. Right then we said "Hello!" He turned and was shocked to see us. He is actually an Imagineer so I was glad to see him, asked him some things about the area, he helped design the area leading up to RNRC. He asked if we wanted to hang out with them for a while so we did. He didnt know we were gonna be there at that time, and I didn't know he was either or we would have made plans to hang together. A mutual friend did though and she said it never crossed her mind to tell each of us of the others vacation plans.

THe last time we were there in 2002, (my DS was going to be a freshman, and so did not have any info about this) the band from our High School was there as well.........we saw tons of people we knew.

The first time we went as a family, (DS was 8, DD was 6), we were watching (I think) the Toy Story parade, and right across the street was a family from our church.

Couple of years ago, my family was getting off Splash Mountain and ran into one of the Assistant D.A.s I work with in court. Very small world.

I've been to WDW about 8 times and I've only run into one person I know. And it was my cousin! I did see one of my old customers but didn't get to say hi.

Almost every time we've gone we've run into someone we either know, or is from our area ( we find out through conversations in line, or on the bus, etc.)

We ran into a former student of mine in Disney MGM Studios at the Commissary. Her mom was at the register down the way from ours and I heard "Mrs. W?" and I immediately recognized the voice and turned and we were just floored! I had no idea this student would be there at the same time we were!

Then, we took DS for his 8th bday and he ran into one of his classmates while waiting in line to get into MGM! We heard they were in Disney, but from what we understood, we were arriving as they were leaving. I guess not b/c it was our first day there and their last full day in the parks! It was funny to run into them.

Both times, we took photos to "prove" that we were there at the same time. When I came back to school, everyone was shocked that I ran into my former student (she's still in our school but in a different grade). And, when DS went back to school, everyone was stunned that he ran into his classmate.

Last spring, we ran into the son of one of my nurse's and his family, who were taking the same flight to WDW as we were. We actually ran into them several times during the trip without planning to do so. My husband also ran into a coworker who had retired from the same research group, who was also on the same flight. He and his wife were visiting their daughter who was in the college program at WDW. We went to MK the first evening we were there, and who should be working at Philharmargic but my husband's friend's daughter. Too much of a coincidence. We were the very last show of the evening, and it wasn't crowded, and she gave us all special front of the line passes for the next day.
