My cruise is not for a whole year yet but I just want to let people know that it does pay to book early. I booked our cruise at the begining of April for May of 2006 and I check on the Disney site every once in a while and just this morning I noticed that the cat 6 room we have booked is now almost $100 more than when we booked!!! And the cat 11 room we have booked across the hall from the other is $60 more!!!
As every one keeps saying it pays to be prepared!! Now does anyone know that if the price happens to drop (HA-HA-HA) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: will we get the decress!!! I know it is a wild shot but just checking!!! :confused3

It sure does pay to book early with DCL. I booked in January 2005 for our August 2006 cruise. I checked the other day, and the same cabin for three of us has increased by more than $1,000.

Here's our story:

Room Descriptions:

Room 1 - Cat 6 : 2 adults, 1 child(7)
Room 2 - Cat 6 : 2 adults, 1 child(2)
Room 3 - Cat 8 : 1 adult, 2 children(10, 8)
Room 4 - Cat 8 : 2 adults

On 10/4/04 when we booked, DCL's prices were:

Room 1: 5721.39
Room 2: 4746.39
Room 3: 4681.39
Room 4: 3574.26

Total: 18723.43

As of 4/27/2005 - DCL's price:

Room 1: 7278.39
Room 2: 5844.39
Room 3: 5978.39
Room 4: 4412.26

Total: 23513.43

Of course, we transferred the reservation shortly after our 11/2004 cruise to our favorite travel agent and she saved us even more off of the initial price there. As it sits right NOW, all in all, we're paying almost $7000 less than what DCL is charging right now for the same rooms. :earseek: :earseek:

my repo cruise room is about $3,000 more today :earseek:

We booked a Dec 2005 just a month ago:
Cat 6
Land and Sea (4 nights at Poly)
2 adults
2 kids (5, 7)
$3615

I just checked today at DCL the cruise has gone up to $4306--up $700 in just ONE MONTH!

We booked a cat 7 last month for December 2006

DCL price $3794 (no ground transfers and no insurance)
TA price $3094

Savings of $700!!!!

And, because we booked with Dreams Unlimited, we also get $100 ship credit, making the total savings $800 so far!

:cool1: I am going to keep checking the DCL site because watching the prices go up makes me feel better about how much $$$ this cruise is going to cost!

I am booked for the Dec 22 2005 Christmas Wonder. We booked last August 2004 or so. I am surprised that the cost really has not gone up. Not complaining-it does not affect us either way. Just wondering :confused3

How far (and where) can you book in advance? We would like to do a 7-day June of 2007 for our 20th anniversary - just did the 4-day Wonder last month for our first cruise.

Book a year in advance. I'm lazy so I just book thru www.disneycruise.com.

We booked our 14 day repo cruise the the day they released the dates. AS of now...it's 4300.00 more. We booked a Cat. 4 and got a great price.

On our 8/2001 and 9/2003 cruise, the prices actually desreased as the time got closer. I too kept checking the DCL website for the prices. When I saw that they went down, I called DCL and they were more than happy to give us the new rates. It really pays to keep checking the prices (especially during hurricane season :rotfl2: ).
