It Lightens The Mood Changed Again!

Are you sure you can get this package at a value resort?
Paulh

yes premium is available at any resort, while the platinum is only available at deluxe resorts

I think the premium plan looks amazing. I think we will just do the normal DDP next year, but if we like it then i might consider the premium plan for 2008 especially as our kids will then be over 4 years old so we can make use of the kids clubs ;) will need to get saving though.

mushumadness how long are you going for and are you doing the plan the whole time? I can't help thinking you would need at least 14 nights on the plan to be able to fit in all the extra recreation bits. did you have to buy tickets for every day of your stay or can you just buy one day base tickets and then buy the uk tickets which work out cheaper??

Well my changes lighten the mood lol, but this is the last one I asure you
I sincerely hope not, Anna. I'm running a book and I'm going to be well out of pocket if this really is the last change you make! ;)

This package would be way too restrictive for me. Do you really want to spend the whole time taking tours? I keep thinking I'd like to experience at least one, but definitely not more than one per trip. I'd also be worn out having to plan and book 3 meals a day in advance, not to mention booking the tours, the golf, Cirque, etc. Still, for an obsessive planner like you, I'm sure it's a dream come true! Have fun. :teeth:

Corrected below for Anna's correction (Prefered room instead of standard room) and my mathematical mistake (oops!)

You are still looking at about a $320 per person difference. Since the package is available at all the resorts, I would guess that you would add about $320 to the room rate for a given resort (although maybe it is a prefered/view room).

For two adults sharing a room, you are looking at whether you think that you will get $320 (or $160 per person) per day more value from the packge. I think that you could do it if you really go for it (i.e. three good meals) and a park visit a day and squeeze in lots of tours and activities.

Would feel dead guilty about going to Universal or Kennedy Space Centre whilst on the package though... ;) (maybe it is a good packge to combine with comething else? A week on the package and a week in a villa or off-site hotel?)

So about $215 per person per night/day or $430 per room per night/day...

Prefered room is probably about $110 a night including taxes. So you are paying about $320 per room per night/day for the package (i.e. park tickets, meals, activities etc.).

(Just to put things in perpective for those interested in bookign the package - makes it easier to work out whether it is "worth it" to you personally)

We're there 14 days,

We have ten day tickets as we plan on doing universal two days and of course shopping!

but I may change that lol as they work out nearly as much as annual pass, we will see

I am really happy with the meal situation though lol, We will be able to plan where we eat, where ever we want. We dont tend to spend all day in the parks so we can do breakfast and lunch at wdw, then off to shop then back for a late dinner at a resort.

We may do one or two tours, and will definatly use the preffered viewing for wishes and illuminations.

I did price the platinum package at akl, and it worked out at $10235.00 for two of us, which seems a bit much to me but there you go.

So you have the package for two weeks? Does that include "park entry for all 14 days" or just "park entry for 10 days"? Or is it "park entry for all 14 days & only hopper priveleges for 10 days"?

It gets a bit confusing...

About $4000 difference = $285 per room per night differecence. Probably $200 of that will be difference in accomodation costs (Pop to AKL). Th rest will fund the extras you get with Platinum...

ten days hopper pass, which I have decided to cancel and just have the one day base, and get an annual pass as the annual pass is like $20 more and you get discounts

Sounds like it makes sense.

So, you pay less than the $3000 for your package now (since you only now have one day - the minimum - "base ticket" included now)...

Hi Anna - I love to follow your planning, but must admit this latest plan is making my head spin, so much to do and so much detailed planning required - which no doubt you are brilliant at

you should see this year planning lol for eight of us, its a carefully structered caos

to me it looks to much, think the dinning plan is a better value

unfortunatly counter meals arnt our thing so the premium plan works better for us as if we wanted we can have 2 or 3 sit down meals a day

3 full service meals a day for 14 consecutive days is a lot of food. I can eat, but there's no way I could manage that.

Blimey - after 2 or sit down meals a day in WDW I don't think I would be able to walk! :)
