Trying to set up the last minute cruise, I am going between Carnival Fantasy and RCL Sovereign of the Seas.

Disney doesn't have any availability for the May 12 sailing.

When i called RCL the rep told me, "You should go without your son, then you can get a really great deal" "The cruise is mainly for adults anyway what with the entertainment at night and the comedians" "Can you leave your son with your mother in law" This trip was FOR our Son. WOW what an impression this has left with me!!!

When I called Carnival they were better, but I am still afraid of taking another cruise line. I am worried about Carnival being too much of a party atmosphere for my 8 year old? Any recommendations? We really wanted to take a quickie cruise and can go on the 4n for about 1000$ for three of us. Should I just save my money and go later on a Disney trip when they have availability?

Thank goodness we are going on Disney in the fall!!!!!

I spoke with a Carnival rep and they have tried to change their atmosphere from a party ship to a more family ship. May 12 will be iffey because some of the colleges have graduated. Luckily, most high schools have not.

Carnival is supposed to have a pretty good children's program. They are much less expensive than Disney too??? (you might get what you pay for??)

Have fun. Enjoy time with your family and have smooth seas!!!!

The RCCL rep really tried to discourage you from bringing your child? I'm surprised... it seems that most of the lines are realizing that a cruise is a great family vacation. Oh well. As you said... it definitely isn't Disney.
