From the Disney store you can only get a 7 day ticket - but we want 10 days - it is just as cheap as it is to buy a 10 day (roughly only 30.00 for 4 tickets) to upgrade from 7 to 10 days when you get there? I would really like to get my 7 day tickets from the Disney Store to save the $$ I can pay in Cdn.

Also, WHERE do you add on to your tickets? at a park? And I heard someone on another page say to make sure you use your ticket for at least one day before you add on - why is that??

Thanks all!!

I can't help you, but would love to know the answer.:goodvibes

I bought 5 day tix at the Disney store in Dartmouth and got home and realized had I spent $8.00 more per ticket, I could have bought the 7 day ones.

I have to add the non expiry on when we get down there, but would like to know ahead of time how much more I need to spend to add the extra days.;)

Here are my thoughts.
You use the ticket first so that you get the current value out of it when you goto upgrade. If you go on the Disney site to see how much they are selling a 5 or 7 day pass for, that is the value disney will use. So the difference between the pass you have and the pass you want is what you'll need to pay. We're upgrading our 7 day Disney store pass to the water park and fun pass, which I believe is a $50US upgrade. To add non expiry I think (going from memory) it's like $75US more.
I'll let you know in about 10 days. ;)

It's an easy thing to upgrade. Last year, I was one day short and popped into Guest Services at the park (or Downtown Disney), and have them add the extra days.

The supposed reason to use the ticket first is: if the ticket is a 'discounted' ticket, and hasn't been used, Disney will take the discounted cost of the ticket and charge you the difference. Once you use the ticket, Disney takes it at face value...and then just charges you their upgrade. I'm not sure if that it true, but I always use the ticket first. ;)

The tickets that we buy at DS is not considered a discount tickets and there is no need to use the ticket once before the upgrade. The DS tickets have the same face value as the tickets we would buy at WDW. I found that out this pass christmas when I went to the guest relation with my DS tickets and asked the CM to scan my tickets. She told me they worth the same as their tickets they sell and I only needed to pay for the difference for the upgrade.

...or if you've purchased them in advance and there's been a price increase..
