It appears AirTran dropped our flight!

I had a 505 pm flight booked in October from MCO to Indy; now when I look the 505 is gone and we were assigned a 736p flight. WAAAAAY too late for flying with two littles. I have been on hold with AirTran for 19 minutes now...what are my options? I am nervous, having used primarily NWA with good results. Only one other Airtran flight under my belt. HELP!!!
 
I held for 47 minutes and then gave up due to neck-ache and time to go to bed!!! Hoping for a response before I call them tomorrow...can I cancel and get a refund or do I have to just reschedule (which I am nervous about...what if they cancel my re-scheduled flight too???).
 
They changed our flight several times by 2 or 3 minutes. One of the last times they changed it by 40 minutes or so. It aggravated me because we were leaving WDW earlier :mad: . I called and asked to move my flight and they let me no problem. No charge since it was b/c of them jockying with my ressie. They even let me move from a layover to a direct flight!

you can cancel with no penalty or reschedule. We ended up taking a nonstop flight the next morning at no charge when airtran did that to us.
 
I have had great luck with Airtran. They recently changed my flight by about 20 minutes. They let me reschdule my flight for about 6 hours earlier!

I have found that if you are REALLY nice about the whole thing they normally come through. Sure we can be angry on the inside but just like with cast members, put on a happy face for the show.

Just carry a real nice tone explain you had previous plans that you might now miss and that you are traveling with two little ones who in the past do not travel very well later at night.

Well, as always I stressed for nothing...I called this a.m., got right through to a reservation agent, and was able to book an earlier nonstop flight! So far, so good. Just hoping they don't cancel this flight!
 
DOn't worry about it. If they cancel that flight they will reschedule you again.
As others have said, I have always had really good service from AirTran. I have also gotten better flights for the same price because they changed a schedule by a bit. Just keep an eye on your reservation at their web site, so if it does change again you can call right away.
For what its worth, Delta changed our flight in October to 6 hours later on the return flight. There is now only an early morning or early evening return flight. So it is not an issue with just AirTran. When you book far in advance it is very likely that the flights will change before your date of travel.
 
AirTran has been great with my reservations too. A few weeks ago, they changed some things on our flight through Atlanta, so they changed us to a non-stop for no fee! YEA!!! Only thing is now that non-stop leaves 4 hours earlier than I planned which means I need to take my kids out of school for another 1/2 day. Oh well...more time in Disney!!! Airtran has been very good about changing things and me not paying a penny extra! Good luck!!!

:rolleyes1 you don't have to "make nice" or give a reason why you don't want the particular flight they stick you with in this situation. They are not doing you any favors, they entered into a contract and are obligated to fulfill it!

Just request what you want, in a business-like tone. Subject to capacity control issues, they are agreeable to you to rebook within a day or so or receiving a refund, if what they offer doesn't suit your plans.

Our worst case was AT eliminating our return NS early evening flight a month prior to departure (without an email notification) switching us to a 9:00 a.m. flight. We did cancel & book SW.:thumbsup2
