"It all started with a whopping price error…” 10/24 The Perfect Storm of Opportunity

:yay:It sounds like you are having a wonderful trip so far. I am glad you are getting to eat this time.:thumbsup2

A jacuzzi tub soak sounds so good right now! You guys sure had a fun day!!

Just recently found your TR and I am finally caught up, I am so sorry about your dad, I know it is hard, I lost my mom the day before my birthday in 2002 and still have a hard time sometimes. Glad you were able to get back there, though. Disney is a great place to "Get away" from things.

Wow you guys got a lot accomplished that 1st Day! Hope the rest of the trip is just as good for yoiu.

We were at the magic kingdom on Wednesday, so i just found your latest post!! I love EPCOT!! It is our family's favorite park (with MK of course!!) I can't wait to read about your day at Animal Kingdom, we went there in Nov. it was my and the kid's first time there. It was a lot of fun too!!

Are you still making my sweet tea? ;)

That is so great that you got to sit up front on the monorail :cool1:. I had heard they stopped that last year after the horrific accident - which was one day before we went to MK!:confused3 I will have to look into that when we go in July - but with the July crowds it is almost never deserted:scared1:! Keep the reports coming - great job!

JULY:scared1: I don't think I could handle the heat or the crowds. You're much braver than I am.

I loved this installment! It made me smile to know you were bringing a big more magic to the trip by getting to ride up front on the monorail...especially now that they no longer offer it.

I'm so glad now that I said yes to that second ride. Little did I know we wouldn't have the opportunity again. Carpe Diem!

The "We've been expecting you" line was pretty funny. :)

Of all the CMs I encountered he was my favorite. He seem to be genuinly having a great time and just oozed enthusiasm.

Did you do Turtle Talk? That is the best attraction at the Living Seas.

No, I thought it was more geared to smaller children.

Oh well, I guess I better plan another trip so I can catch turtle talk!

i just found your trip report and I have now spent the first two hours of my work day reading this.:rolleyes1 I am frankly glad I could read through the whole thing. I am sorry for your loss and happy that you all got a chance at a redo. Great writing and I am looking forward to the rest.

Thanks. Glad I could help your work day go a little faster! ;)

i just found this and have to go back and catch up but that deal, wow!!!
and that Ikea commercial cracked me up. I've totally had that feeling before!

I love that commercial! I wish I could come up with another deal like that but unfortunately I think I am more likely to get struck by lightning,..or rainbows!

With the day you had, no wonder you started to run out of steam. That was a pretty hard core day! Glad you got to ride up front in the monorail....not once , but twice! :thumbsup2 Glad you got to do a few more things in Epcot before heading home for a rest. Sounds like a fabulous day!

It was a really good day. Surprising how much you can do when there is low crowds, you are willing to walk, and have no ADRs. Mostly, I owe it to the DIS for teaching me how to tour properly!

:yay:It sounds like you are having a wonderful trip so far. I am glad you are getting to eat this time.:thumbsup2

I glad I got to eat too! Seemed like the first time I was always hungry. I was always "saving calories" for something really good so I could really pig-out then. Something always seemed to come up that I got to go where I was planning.

Like a lot of women I am carrying around an extra 5 pounds over what I feel is my ideal weight. I lost it and a bit more during that time. Unfortunately I found it again. :guilty:

A jacuzzi tub soak sounds so good right now! You guys sure had a fun day!!

I always worry about if there is mould and bacteria in the jacuzzi tub jets. This place was so new that I'm not sure if anyone had actually stayed in that unit before us so I didn't worry about it.

More! More! :)

I'm glad your trip is looking up.

And I am happy to report that no more major disasters befall us.

Thanks for reading. I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. I think that it can be harder when a death is close to another special date, you just can't just celebrate the special date without remembering that it is also the anniversary of the death of someone you loved.

Before we left home I didn't think I would be able to just let go and just have a good time, but for the most part I did just that. Sure, it was never far from my mind, but I seemed to be able just sort of put it in a "compartment" to be delt with later.

How was MK? Were you just there the one day?

I hate to admit it, but my family is in agreement that MK is our least favorite park. I think it is probably because my kids, especially DS, are older and that none of us had been there as small children so there is no sentimental attachment to it.

I am looking forward to having grandchildren to take there so I can see it through their eyes. I think when the day comes that we can take a little one we won't want to leave MK.

I am still enjoying your tea and DH has been known to have a glass or 2 as well!

I have to say it is lovely to have the space we do. We enjoy lounging around having a snack or cup of tea without a “trip out.” Also with 4 TVs at our disposal there is never an argument over what to watch.
After a lovely soak in the Jacuzzi tub it is lights out. Tomorrow is another early morning.

Up Next: Animal Kingdom at long last!

WOW 4 TVs.:thumbsup2 I am a huge TV addict. Did they have one in the bathroom so you could watch it while soaking in the Jacuzzi tub.:rotfl:

How did you like Kim Impossible? We are thinking of trying it this time.

That is so cool that you were able to sit up front. When we went last April we had too many people too so I never asked. And I don't think they are allowing that anymore after the horrible accident.

We liked Kim Possible. We would have liked it much more if we weren't cold and tired. I think kids 5-10 will think it is awesome, but it is fun for everyone.

I have heard that too. Glad we seized the opportunity then!

Have a great time on your trip!!

Your installment was great! I love how much you got done, and how you got to ride in the front of the monorail TWICE!

And I like that you were able to quit while you were ahead, even if it meant missing Illuminations. I could learn a lesson or two about that based on my last trip (which, by the way, I DID start my trip report last night!)

JULY:scared1: I don't think I could handle the heat or the crowds. You're much braver than I am.

I have gone once and June and twice in August. I am a teacher and I used to start work the last week of August/first week in September and mid-August became my favorite time to go. I switched schools this year and we start in early August so that time period is out now. :sad2: Oh well, I found spring to be a little nicer weather-wise, but it was more crowded since I was only there for a weekend.

And yes, you can get a lot done when touring "properly". ;)

I just found your TR and am really enjoying it. Thank you so much for sharing your trip(s) with us.

We had an awsome day and accomplished so much. I'm sorry that we missed Illuminations, but I just knew that we were so tired that we would never enjoy it like we should. It is high on my must do list for the next time we visit,

(which, by the way, I DID start my trip report last night!)

I'm heading over to check it out as soon as I'm done here!

What do you teach? I hope it isn't english.

I'm hoping the next time we go that I can make myself slow down a little. I want to notice some details and take plently of photos. Sometimes my type "A" personality traits rears its ugly head and all I can think is go go GO, times a wastin.

Subbing so I can read the rest of your TR. Sorry for your loss. I knew I shouldn't have continued reading but I was compelled and had my own tearfest over it. I can't imagine how I would get through something like that. I am glad you went back and didn't let it haunt you for the rest of your and your children's lives.

Thanks for dropping a line. I hope to have another installment ready on Wednesday.

It was a really good time. I am glad that we did go right back. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for reading. It was difficult but does get a little easier over time.

I am glad you went back and didn't let it haunt you for the rest of you and your children's lives.

I am really glad we went back when we did. Sort of like getting right back on the horse, if you don't do it right away it gets harder and harder to face. I thought when March break rolled around I might be a little sad that we hadn't waited to go until then but I wasn't.

I found your TR earlier today and wound up up reading it all the way through.

I'm not even sure what all to say so I'll just say thank you for taking us along. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your stay. Hope it was everything you wanted and more!

Kristen

Awww, you didn't get back over there to see it? On our family trips growing up (the ones in my sig up through 2005) we used to watch it almost every night of our trips. I prefer it to Wishes, but I think it's more of a sentimental thing than strictly the quality of the show. It's a great show, but so are Wishes and Fantasmic!

I saw you posted to my TR! I need to head over there next!

Actually...:rotfl: I do teach English! :lmao: I teach English as a Second Language in a pull out program. Meaning, I pull them out of their homeroom classes to supplement their language learning. All the children I see speak another language in the home as their first language.

Don't be anxious though! I grade enough stuff at work that I'm not analyzing anyone's grammar over here! ;)

On prior trips, I've been known to take photos in one hand while walking...just click! click! click! It's how I end up with a few thousand photos for one trip. :headache:

Wait till you read my TR...you will see I have the same "times a wastin" problem. :rolleyes1

Oh my gosh! I just found your TR today and here I was enjoying this amazing TR written by a fellow Maritimer... Now I'm sitting in my room crying for you! I am so very sorry for your loss. (I'm only on page 9). I cannot imagine how difficult that must have been for you to be so far away when that happened. Now I guess I'll go back and finish reading...

Just read your entire TR through! You had me laughing, crying, happy and sad. I am enjoying it. Can't wait to read more!

Wow! Read the whole TR... okay, I'll be honest, I read your TR installments but I mostly skipped the comments in between. I hope I didn't miss anything too important.

Your DD got to drive the boat in JC, that's too cool! I didn't know they did that until my sister came home last year with pictures of her son driving it. In their case the driver asked for a volunteer and he totally jumped up. He was just barely 4 and is very independent in a lot of ways. Any time I've been on the ride, they've never looked for anyone. I think the driver just wanted to make it special for your daughter.

Twice in the front of the monorail! That's pretty special. Do they still do that since the accident last year?

Thanks for a great TR, you should look into being a writer as you seem to bring out the emotions in people, I've laughed and cried (of course for you when you wrote about your dad's passing and then again when you wrote about the rainbow.) and gotten excited with you about your trips.

Can't wait to hear how you liked AK.
