It’s 2022 San Diego Comic Con week

I am VERY conflicted about this show. I am a huge fan of LOTR (the Peter Jackson trilogy is the greatest film trilogy ever made in my opinion) and yet I feel skeptical that this will be a faithful adaptation of Tolkien's work. This reminds me more of Game of Thrones than LOTR. I think it will all come down to the writing. If the writing is garbage, then not even the visuals and cinematography can save it.

I miss going, I've gone twice before and it's so much fun, even staying up all night to attend a panel.

Same. We went three times before they instituted the insane online sales/registration queues. We've never made it through the waiting room since. I gave up trying a few years back.

The Rock as Black Atom will be at Comic-Con tomorrow (along with other great movie/tv panels).

My son is most excited to see photos of the giant Bowser Lego figure that will be on display there.

I managed to get someone else’s kids in the photo, but it shows the scale nicely. It’s HUGE.

I went yesterday and am going Sunday. I have all 4 days but my kids started school and dance this week and have auditions tomorrow and it's been kind of nuts. I just did the convention floor yesterday and Sunday the kids are coming and we're going to a couple of panels.

I used to be much more into it, have been going since 2015, i think. My friend that I used to go with moved away though and it's not the same. It's really bad timing with school and everything every year, too. It's fun but it's a LOT, lol. I think I may try D23 next time instead.
