It is with some reservation, but I thought I might share some thoughts in the hopes that someone might become inspired with me.
On Monday nights WISH chat (last night) the subject of motivation was discussed. I thought I would reflect for me and if it helps you, then for you. Motivation comes from within. First I/you must motivate; be determined to try and look to succeed.
While everyone has a different amount of pounds to lose, it is a similar struggle that we face. I seek inspiration from others here. The WISH Forum is a great inspiration for me!
Dont lose sight of the real reason for which we should all strive:
W.I.S.H. = Were Inspired to Stay Healthy
We need to become/remain healthy. If losing weight is part of it then that is what is required along the way to becoming/remaining healthy.
Being a bit of an elder, I sometimes struggle with issues surrounding my age and choices to exercise. It seems more difficult to move around as those aches and pains set in. Yet I realize it is required.
Another WISH member a while back said that exercising was not something that was easy to incorporate in daily life. Yet that person recognized that without movement and exercise along with healthy eating choices, it would be impossible to become/remain healthy. While not necessarily fun, it is life sustaining. You get up and you do it because you must.
Time is required in order for a healthy me/you. If we are not healthy we make it more difficult for ourselves and those around us. Make the time somehow.
I wish being healthy were an easy thing right now; I am impatient. Perhaps some day this struggle will become easier and then no longer be the struggle.
Set goals, some to achieve today, others to strive toward. Take small steps, but take steps. Look for a Finish Line in every step and choice you make. It is bigger than the physical race.
I am pictured here at my peak last October. I have regained some. I share my picture today because I would like to show what I did and to plant a vision for you to see yourself crossing a Finish Line as I know I will again with healthy eating and exercising choices.
I am completing the 5k last October 2003.
Today, because of being inspired by WISH, I am motivated to reenergize myself and will get back on that boring treadmill. You get up and you do it because you must.
I wish you all success in achieving or maintaining better health. Make the commitment for you. Keep on keepin on. Remember; You are worth it!
