Get in the water and see what lay beneath the surface.
On this adventure you will…
Your experience will start with a short bus ride from the pier to the Roseau Valley and through lush greenery, for viewing of the majestic Trafalgar Waterfalls and sulphur springs. Enjoy our picturesque landscapes.
Next, you head off to the second part of your adventure - snorkeling. After a quick orientation you will begin your shore based snorkeling tour…. much like swimming in a glass of champagne and through a stream of bubbles that rises from a submerged volcanic vent in the sea floor. See juvenile and adult fish as well as colorful sponge and coral growths.
St Lucia - we went with Bernard’s Tours. Minibus. Lots of riding on hilly, curvy roads. Stopped at a banana stand, Pitons photo stop. Overlook of A fishing town. Stopped at Soufries. I stayed in town while the rest went by boat to Sugar Beach for snorkeling. Then lunch in town. Went to water fall (cold) with steps into the pool below. Mud bath (VERY hot) at Sulfur Springs. Passed by the sign for UNESCO World Heritage Site - Pitons. Took entire day.
I would consider SL20 if you are into snorkeling. Touch the Pitons (SL84) if you are a hiker. Both will give good views of the Pitons (pointy mountains - they are what makes St Lucia unique. Although Dominica has at least one). I would pick water transportation over riding on the windy roads. The local drivers are comfortable on the roads, many visiting passengers are not.
Antigua & Barbuda - I did an island tour, as once again there was a World Heritage Site to visit. And beautiful views from an island that has 365 beaches.
This is just a view of the Atlantic with Montserrat in the distance.
Since they give you beach names, I recommend an internet search of each offered to see if any one stands calls out to you. It could be length of walkable beach, water access, shade… the info may include whether there is living coral for better snorkeling.
Dominica - I have not been. I would want to be near the Pitons, in their UNESCO World Heritage Site I kid you not; there are a bunch in the Caribbean. Some are for ecological or geological aspects, others for history of humans. (There are over 1,000 of these designated sites; I have been to less than 100.)
