Issues with Disney Dining call center today??

I waited until after lunch to call Disney to get the Star Wars Sci-Fi breakfast. Ok....figured I would be on hold for a bit. But....after not being able to 'touch 1' and such to get to DD, and multiple other issues with the automated system, I waited for 30 mins. Finally got a CM....she kept saying 'hello? Hello??'. I'm yelling into the phone. She finally says 'I'm sorry but there seems to be an issue. I can't hear you at my end. Please call back.' Aarrrgggg.
Okay, I call back...again the automated system issues. After 20 mins I get through. My first sentence is 'Can you hear me?'. The CM said yes, but it was funny...she had just had two calls in a row where she couldn't hear anyone!!! Evidently an issue....not so great when so many want to get through.

I called and added a few days to our trip this morning, and that put us into 178 days out, so when we were done she tried to transfer me over to dining to do ADR's. It took forever, and she told me that they were having some phone issues today.

When I called this morning, the automated voiced sounded terrible. And then it took over 45min for a CM to pick up my call. I thought that was an extra-long time. But the actual ADR conversation was fine and I completed my ADR list pretty quickly.

They were just overloaded with calls regarding the new Star Wars Character dining that is available starting this morning by phone only. Heard there were some people on hold for over an hour

I read a bit about the SW character meals, but wasn't tuned in to the details since it wasn't our trip dates. Your post makes a lot of sense. Thanks.
