I don't know if anyone has mentioned this in one of the 742 FP+ threads, but I'm going to miss giving some unsuspecting family FP's for a ride they probably wouldn't get to ride. We usually get FP's for a headliner before we leave a park and then spend the last 10-15 minutes "choosing" a lucky family to give them to. My kids get such a kick out of doing this and the receiving family is always flabbergasted by it. :(

Always loved doing this! I never thought about it with the new stuff!!!

It gets mentioned frequently in many of the FP+ threads.

And when it gets mentioned there is always somebody who comes on and chastises the person giving them away because the fast passes are "non-transferable" and it's against Disney policy.

That somebody is not me.

The kids always loved giving fast passes we weren't going to use to someone just getting on a long line.

I am one that is glad that Disney is finally cracking down on this practice.

I occasionally gave away a fp- if I pulled it and a change in circumstance resulted in my not being able to use it. However the people who pulled them just to not let a family waiting in line for a fp get to go on the ride, so some other family they deem worthy can, are deplorable imo.

We had a heck of a time giving away our TSM fastpasses a couple trips ago. (We'd decided we didn't want to trek back across the park, we wanted to stay and watch Beauty and the Beast instead.) The families we approached kept refusing and looking at us like they thought we were trying to scam them somehow.

Mind you, the young couple who finally took them were extremely grateful ("Are you serious?? Fastpasses for Toy Story? Awesome!") so that was nice. :goodvibes

I dunno, maybe we come across as creepy or something. :confused3

Last trip we didn't have any fastpasses to give away, but we did give a young couple our old Candlelight Processional stickers to use for preferred fireworks viewing, since we weren't going to make it to 9pm. They were quite happy, too.

On our DL trip last year we were on line for Space Mt when it went down. They gave out return FP that were good for up to 6 people. When we went back to ride later in the day we "adopted" a family to come with us.

It wasn't Disney but I had this happen at a hockey game recently. My employer gave all of us 4 tickets for a hot dog-popcorn-beer/soda, and 8 tickets for a beer/soda. My guests canceled so it was just my husband and I and there was no way we could use that. I could NOT convince anyone to take the free beer tickets- even people standing in line who just ordered a beer! ("I have a ticket that will make that free if you want it." "Oh, no thanks.")

We only managed to give 2 tickets away. Finally we found a stand that was giving soda in bottles, got 6 of them and put them in my purse and left the game with them, forfitting the food.

I don't know why you would pull FP JUST to give it away though. I understand deciding not to use it- but pulling it with the intention to give it away means someone else who wants it might not get it. They are limited quantity.

Deplorable??? Someone who creates a bit of magic for someone is deplorable? Wow.

I have given away TONS of FPs in front of CMs. Never once was I told that I should not do it. If they wanted a system where they were not transferable they could have easily done it. They chose not to. I personally think it was intentional that they did not...

I guess I am going to go straight to hell for pulling 20 FPs for TSMM on my last day with our 5 tickets and 3 sets of 5 room keys and used 8 of them and gave 12 away to some of the nicest, most appreciative families. The best was when I gave 3 of them to 2 cousins around age 6 or 7 with their grandmother. They looked up at me and said "Wow, thanks sir. I dont think my grandma was going to do well on the long line. Thank you very much, sir" Grandma laughed, thanked me again as I told her that she had wonderful grandkids...

I now know that I have sinned and I am a deplorable person.

Oh, poor despicable me (oops wrong company)

Guilty as charged ;)

I am deplorable, ask my DSIL. I'm also one of those schmucks who gives up my seat on the bus or monorail so somebody else can sit down. But enough about me, I've got to get back to reading all of those FP+ threads I haven't read ;)
