Issue with Copying Fastpass+ Reservations

We had an change of plans, so I wanted to move a fastpass+ reservation time. There are 5 of us, but I started by just moving the time for myself in case there was a problem. It worked fine, but when I went back to move the others, the time we wanted, and I had been able to get, was no longer available.

I thought I could just copy my Fastpass+ reservations for that day to the other 4 people, and they would get the same times as my reservation, even though that time was no longer available by doing a direct change. HOWEVER, when I did the copy, the other 4 in our group were given a different time from what I had. A different time they did not want, and that different time did not show until the copy was complete. There was no option to see the new times before the copy was complete, so there was no option cancel the changes and have them keep their original time.

So for those who have suggested that as long as one person in a group has the Fastpass+ attractions and times they want, the others can get those same Fastpasses later by using the copy function, that does not appear to be the case if the fastpasses being copied are not available to be "booked directly"

Anyone else run into this issue?

Happened to me in October. But I was trying to make changes to Toy Story or Soarin day of or day before. It was a major pain. There were 4 of us and sometimes I could get the change to copy so 2 of us had the new time. Or if my time was say 1-2, it showed me that my time wasn't available, but the others would be given 12:55-1:55, which was fine. But then it would say there was an error. And then the original time I couldn't get back for myself.

With the Soarin one, I went to guest services and explained and the girl wasn't able to copy, but what she did was add in a fp for Soarin that was valid any time until close. I'm calling it a bit of pixie dust, and do not expect that to be the norm.

So I agree with you. Copying should work if time slots are available, but if they're not, you could end up with multiple time slots for your group. Quite annoying. Would be nice if they could let you see what's available instead of making you search. Really not user friendly.

What dates are you trying to change?

It is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, so I understand that the time we want might be full. What was frustrating was that the others in our group already had a time that while not the best, would have worked, although the time I tried to copy would work better. However, as part of the copy process, since the time I had, and was trying to copy, was not available it changed the time for the others without any indication that it would not be in the same window as my time, and without giving the option to keep the original time for the others in our group.

Yeah that really sucks! It's like a bait and switch. You should at least be told what it's going to do so you have the option to cancel out to your original time. It's possible that once you get there you can try at guest relations and explain what happened and see if they can help you out.

Yep I was told the same thing. Prior to my trip Oct. 18-Nov. 2, I could not link my AP. I talked to several IT folks trying to fix it, and they opened a ticket too (didn't help). I was also assured that I should just make FP choices for my husband and kids and grandkids and when I arrive and got someone to "fix" the problem I could just be copied.....not so fast.

First it took me 5+ hours and many visits with guest relations and the front desk of my resort. I started trying to get my annual pass -- which expires in January 2014 -- but my magic band/MDE account said it was expired and had no day left, fixed. I went to several guest relations folks. The first one at International Gateway and after 40 minutes I was told it was fixed and walked away -- he thought he could just void out my old one and give me a new one. I tried to do a copy FP only to be told I had no valid admission, so we ventured on, stopping and talking to the roaming guest relations CM that hang at the attractions and the kiosk.....I was told so many stories....but finally around 6:00PM (keep in mind I started at noon when I arrived at the BWV) we went into the guest relations at the AK and I got my "hero". He spent 1 1/2 hours with us and on the phone with IT. A big high 5 when he finally got my AP to read 94 days left!!! yes finally getting some results. HE said would you like me to copy your husband's FP choices to you and I said YES......it took about 45 minutes to get that done. Often there were no times left for Soarin, Test Track and TSM. So everytime that happened he would add a "comp" fast pass with a time 9:00 to 11:30 for that attraction so that I could ride with family. I had 14 days worth of FP to be copied. I had comp passes to cover me to ride with my family for many attractions. Heck sometimes he would just throw a comp pass in for everyone. Yes, it took me my entire first day of vacation to get my AP and FP straigthened out. Had I not met this CM I can't imagine how miserable my trip would've been. After talking to maybe 10 CMs prior to going in to see this last CM, I didn't even want to go in anymore as I was so defeated. My husband begged me, try one more time and I did and it worked out, but really, this was way too much work for me.

Just an side note, that the folks at my resort did compensate me for my lost day, because they tried so hard to help me work things out. I really appreciated it and they really weren't equipped to handle my issues, but admitted it.

So if you can't get a FP time the same as your family, the CMs at your resort may be able to help secure a suitable comp FP to fit your schedule.
