ISO Cheap printer that uses cheap ink...

Please tell me there is such a thing. My printer was resonable, but the ink cartridges KILL me!! So, if anyone could give me a suggestion (I just need one, right now, for printing text documents, and Disboard threads ) I sure would appreciate it!!!

Have you tried the refill kits? They void your warrenty, I believe, but these days printers are so cheap that if something did happen, it wouldn't be the end of the world. I have used them on my HP with no ill effects. I don't use them on my photo printer (Epson), though.

If you're thinking of getting a new printer anyway, I'd try the refills, since you don't have much to lose.

There are several sites on line that sell printer ink MUCH cheaper - we have been able to get as many as 5 for what we would normally pay for one at most stores (they are brands that I have never heard of, but they work just fine). Several places are also tied in with mypoints, if you use that.

123inkjets.com is the one that we have used.

No such thing as a cheap printer that uses cheap ink from a manu. Typically the cheaper the printer the higher the operating costs because the ink cartridges are smaller.

You can use refill kits, or generic ink. BTW, it doesn't void your warranty to use aftermarket inks. The companies will fix the printer but if it happens several times they may refuse to fix the printer because you used aftermarket inks.

Epson, Canon and Brother all have cheaper ink prices than HP or Lexmark. I usually buy the inks at 123inkjets for my Canon and Brother printers and the compatible inks usually cost less than $5 a cartridge for the black ink.
