Islands of Adventure/Universal on a Friday???

Is a Friday less crowded than a Saturday? This would be Friday, May 20. Is that the last day of schools? When does school let out down there?

Hey, I'm planning to spend Friday May 20 at Universal and IOA!! It will just be me - I'll be attending a conference that will be over on the 19th, and the 20th will be a free day! My plan is to do all the thrill stuff at IOA, and the new stuff at Universal (Mummy, Shrek). I also want to get more familiar with the parks so that when DH and I bring the kids in 2007 we'll know our way around well!

My only problem now is figuring out my strategy. I want to ride the most popular stuff at IOA at park opening - but then when do I do Mummy and Shrek? I don't want to wait forever in line!

Most schools are still in on May 20th, you should be fine.

Same here! We will see enough shows when we visit Disney world and we aren't really show type people so we don't have to worry about that taking up time. I had another post open and someone said that it's least crowded when park first opens and least crowded in the evenings. So I figured get there when it opens, grab lunch, head to USF and if lines aren't too bad just go to Mummy/Shrek but if line is really long, hang out and do some of the other things and wait until evening... Although I've been to parks before where I've waited 2-3 hours for a roller coaster... so if the line is like an hour I can deal with it .. I guess I'm not sure what people's definitions are of waiting too long.

It's people's definitions of "too crowded" I wonder for a Saturday as well.. is it really too crowded or just too crowded based on someone's definitions.

Yeah, I might have to plan Shrek and Mummy for late evening, just before I call it a day! There's anot a lot at Universal I need to do this trip, so I hope IOA and a long, leisurely lunch at Citywalk will keep me busy enough till the lines start shortening up!
