Is your "most sentimental" park different than your "favorite" park?

I'm sitting here at work listening to theme park audio on Live365, and they just played the park opening ceremony for the Magic Kingdom. That ceremony and the music for Wishes! and Spectromagic are the things that make me most sentimental for WDW, even though my favorite parks are Epcot and MGM. Am I weird, or is anyone else like that?

absolutely... my most sentimental park is the MK but I like EPCOT/MGM more :thumbsup2

On a side note.. hey I'm from Centreville, VA too! :)

Lol, wow I think we must be cosmically connected to have the same sentimental/favorite parks and live in the same town! We just moved to centreville from fairfax last spring. I really like it!

yea centreville is a great area.. I used to live in fairfax as well (maybe there is something to that cosmically connected thing :lmao: )

About the topic.. nothing beats the sight of the castle and the music playing on main street... but I just love the rides at EPCOT and the hollywood feel of MGM :thumbsup2

My favorite park is EPCOT, but my most sentimental park is the Magic Kingdom. Seeing the castle gleeming in the morning sunshine always causes me to tear up.

Although my favorite park is MK, my most sentimental park is Disney's MGM Studios. I loved the Mickey Mouse Club from the 90's and I have wonderfully fond memories of hanging out at Studios during my trips to the parks hoping to catch a glimpse of one of the Mouseketeers. I still smile when I walk down Mickey Avenue thinking of all of the great times and memories! :teeth:

Yes. Epcot is a sentimental fave because during one trip DH and I were able to leave our two daughters with my dad at the pool and take our DS(2 at the time) to Epcot for a night. The wonder our DS experienced riding El River de Tiempo(is that right???) and dancing to the sounds of Epcot just thrilled us. Each time I go to Epcot, I remember that special night.

But, MK is my favorite park!

I would have to say that MK is the most sentimental because it was the first, I remember going as a child, it's so magical.
I think I like all parks equally as well and it's hard for me to compare them because they're all so unique.
Everyday that I walk into a WDW park I say "this is my favorite".

MGM is my FAVE park but MK is my FAVE sentimental park. I grew up in California (California Girl here) and it reminds me of Disneyland so every trip as I walk down Main Street toward Cindy's Castle, I am hiding behind dark glasses fighting back the tears as DD gives me a hug and says "it's ok mom." She waits for it. It's expected. Like the first time everytime. I LOVE that happy heart feeling!

Ours are the same. MK is definitely our favorite and definitely the most sentimental. AK/Epcot would tie for second with MGM falling way behind for us.

True for me too. Disneyland is my sentimental favorite and I love every minute I am there, but I have to say that WDW with Animal Kingdom and Epcot in particular are my favorites. But of course with anything connected to a Disney park its all relative since I am deliriously in love with all of them!

MK is my fav and also my most sentimental, mostly b/c it was my first WDW experience. Actually it was my ONLY park until I went for the second time 5 years later......I was only 5 for my first trip and all I cared about was seeing Mickey! Once I did that I was pretty much ready to go home ;) DM took me to MK everyday we were there, and went on JC waaaayy too many times......the things parents will do for their children :goodvibes

My favorite sentimental park is of course the Magic Kingdom, but even though there's not all that much to do there my favorite park is MGM. I wanted to be an actor in my younger days (not so long ago, lol!) and MGM just feels so Hollywood! But now Animal Kingdom is competing rather well with the addition of Everest...

My most sentimental park is definatly MK. Mickey lives there! Small World is there! All the other characters "live" there! Cinderella's castle even lives there! It represents all kinds of magic, dreams and wishes! My favorite park however is EPCOT. I adore World Showcase, Spaceship Earth, Mission Space, and Living with the Land.

My favorite park has to be MK but my most sentimental isn't actually a park it's the Beach Club. On our last trip we saved and saved and even after losing my job just before leaving we still managed to go. On our last day we had breakfast at the BC. After breakfast we went into the hotel gift shop. One by one as we were finished we all met in the lobby. I was waiting in the lobby wtih my DD and Dfriend and her 2 kids trying to figure out what my DS and Dsis went back in for when he came out with a big smile on his face. Then he presented me with a mickey ring! It was beautiful! Not an expensive one but one he picked out on his own and paid for with his own money. He gave me the ring and said "Thank you Mom for taking us on such a great trip!" I was so teary eyed, my Dsis and Dfriend were also teary eyed! I will never forget where exactly I was standing and what he said. Even a couple that were standing near by commented on how sweat that was! So the BC will always be the most sentimental place in DW for me! That ring will be a treasure for the rest of my life!

This is a good thread...my most sentimental park is MGM, due to attractions like ToT, Fantasmic and (especially, formerly) WWTBAM:PI. Lots of memories associated with MGM. My favorite park, tho, is definitely Epcot.
