Is your Dad still alive?

My Dad "Pops" died January 4, 2002 he's been gone 9 years. He died of Bladder Cancer and was 80 years old. We all miss him very much he was a quiet, kind, and a funny guy Happy Fathers Day Pops!

My Daddy died when I was in 4th grade he was only 27 sadly!

Funniest thing, when I read the title of this thread asking if my dad is still alive my first thought was "yes, thank God". The part that is so ironic is my dad died when I was ten and my mom remarried a year later.
My dad was a wonderful dad (and a wonderful guy overall) and I loved him very much. But the man my mom married after he died is also a wonderful dad to me and I love him very much.
I suffered a terrible loss when my dad passed and I miss him a lot but I have also been very blessed and I am dreading the day I lose my mom or my stepdad. They are still fairly young so I am hoping that it will be a long, long time from now.

I lost my dad on May 2, 2009. I still think about, and miss him terribly, every single day....

My dad passed away on Memorial Day in 2002.

I think of him often, especially when I watch Jeopardy. My father passed on to me his affinity for trivia.

I lost my daddy on October 19, 2005. I miss him everyday, and I try to be as good a dad as he was.

my Papa is still alive. 2 years cancer free. Tomorrow he and my mom will celebrate their 37th wedding anniversary.

I lost my dad in February of 2006 at the age of 68 from an aneurysm. I miss him.

My dad passed away June 20, 2010; last Father's Day. Cancer at the age of 57.

My father died in 1974 when I was 15. He was a good provider and I guess what might be considered a good father for the times. Have some good memories, but, no, I don't miss him. It's been too long.

Yeah, I feel cheated. My dad was only 62. I should've had at least another 15-20 GOOD years with him.
The whole thing makes me bitter.

This July will mark 20 years since my dad passed after a long, downhill struggle with Alzheimer's. He only got to meet my wife once before his illness made him unable to recognize her anymore, and he never met my two youngest children. I don't know why, but I miss hime more now than ever.

Dad's been dead for about 10 years. Mom predeceased him as did my only sibling. My father in law is still living.

Agreed. My dad was only 65. Many people live well into their 80's, why couldn't he?
