Is WOC worth it?

I will be in DL and DCA for 2 days late November. I am wondering if WOC is worth the effort. I read so many posts about the wait, rude people and the crowd that I am hesitant to take the time out to see it. What do you think?

We have seen it twice now. One was the preferred dining / standing package and the other was at the WoC private party we won tickets to. While both were great, the preferred dining / standing zone makes a huge difference IMHO. The other thing that makes it tough is the long wait before the show, especially if you have kids. It's later in the evening with tired kids and the boredom and whining kicks in. There is also a bit of the rude crowd aspect, because everyone is jockeying for a good spot and people get tired of standing around for 1-2 hours. That said, the show is great and we are happy we did it, however we probably won't do it again for a while and when we do, we will do the dining package again.

I've heard the same things about parades, fireworks, F! and Splash Mountain.

If you haven't seen it I would make an effort to.

Very true. WOC is a challenge at this point because it is so new and it has a viewing area design that is less than ideal. But IMO it is an incredible show when seen from a good spot.

Should the OP go? Maybe not. Do not be frightened by the negative reports. Read some more some of the readily available information on WOC and then decide. :)

I think it is completely worth it. We saw it in August with the preferred dining package. We have a 6 and 2 year old who both did fine. We are also going to see it again in December again dining package. I just love it!

I just got back and we didn't see it...my son gets bored easily and I don't think it would've held his attention...I know I'm the minority here because everyone goes to it when they go to DL...

I vote it is worth it, but I've only seen it with the preferred dining package, and have not braved the fast pass procedure. The preferred dining was worth every penny, I thought, and then we got to the standing area early and were hanging out with the most awesome people ever. If you do go, try to keep an open mind. I find that helps me a lot. When I expect people to be rude, I tend to see every little annoying thing. When I focus on the positive, I don't see the rudeness as much unless it's totally blatant. Either way, have fun!

Actually you are in the majority. Not that the show should not be seen because most people don't see it.

Disney announced recently that a million people have seen WoC so far. Guessing based on attendance history in the same time DCA had 4 or 5 million visitors. This is probably part of why they issue all of the FPs each day.

Of course I aim to see each show(WoC, F! and RDCT) once during a visit even if I am going for 2, 3, 4 or more days.
