I have booked a standard room for July and was able to get the internet discount 4nights/20% off. I am paying 198.90 per night. Is it worth it to upgrade to the Water view for 224.00 per night? Also, we would like a view of IOA, is water view required for this?

Can I get upgraded using my Leows blue, since I was abel to get the internet discount?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If you want a view of IOA you might want to stick with the standard view and request a room in tower 1 with a view of the parks. Exact room numbers are listed in other threads. There are still pool views that offer great views of the pool and IOA but not as many. I doubt the internet rate will qualify for Loews First privelages but It can't hurt to ask.

We really like room 1740 for its awesome view of both parks. We could not see the pool from our room, but did have a view of the "lake" that the water taxi travels on. It is considered a standard room.

I prefer the park view, which is standard, to the pool view.

When I go to disnney, i never really care what my view is because i only use room to sleep. If we are up we are out. Your way of doing things might be different. Save your money concerning a view and use what you saved to buy yourself a memory or a more exciting meal.

We also prefer the park view via the standard room. Last trip we were "upgraded" to a waterview room. We were really disappointed. It was on the 3rd floor, so the view was obstructed by palm tree trunks. If you craned your neck to the side, you could see the pool and if you looked straight down, you could see the hot tub.

We have had awesome park views with our standard rooms. At least to us, we prefer to wake up to the Hulk growling, watching Fire and Ice and Doom and watching the water taxis in the canal.

As for the internet special - we have the stay for 4, save 20% internet special at the PBH. When I tried to book through Universal, they told me it was not a LoewsFirst rate. So, I called LoewsFirst to verify. They said as long as it is available to everybody (unlike APH) and is available on the Loewshotels.com website, it is a LoewsFirst rate. They stressed, quite strongly I may add, that I HAVE to book through Loewshotels.com - not through Universal. Then immediately call the front desk and have my benefits applied.

It worked for us. Booked two gardenviews at PBH through Loewshotels, called the front desk, and they added my Platinum perk of a guaranteed suite at check-in. And they did actually ask me at the PBH front desk which website I booked off from and then noted that in my reservation. So, I guess what the Loewsfirst lady said about making sure you book off their website was true.

Thanks for all the info concerning the standard view vs. pool view. I am so glad that I can request theme park view with my standard room! I just called to apply my Loews first # and they let me, even though I used the Universal site to book the room. YEAH!
