ive seen the map (thanks Robo!), but wondering if there are signs along the way....

Thanks!

I don't recall many signs when I walked it, but it's pretty easy to navigate. When you exit HS, follow the water away from the boat dock. and just keep the water on your left. You'll see the backside of Boardwalk soon enough.

There are signs to direct you from the Studios to the path and from Epcot to the path although it does get a bit confusing at the Boardwalk. But once on the path, it's a straight walk along the canal so there aren't signs saying "Epcot straight ahead".

When we went it wasn't marked clear enough for us to know there was a path!

We were at Swan/Dolphin and from HS kept waiting for a boat that never came! (We were late) and then had to sprint to the buses to get a ride!

I'm sure the driver was like "theses two bozos could have walked!!!"

Lol, thanks all!

So when we exit HS, is the pathway to the left?

Follow around the lake to the RIGHT.

(If you accidentally went left, you'd reach a dead-end at the Friendship Boat Dock within one minute, so you couldn't go too far wrong.)

You said you saw the map.
If you look at it again at the DHS end, you'll see which way to go .

When you exit DHS, keep the bus area to your right, the canal on your left. Follow the sidewalk out...now the parking lot is on your right, canal still on the left. Keep walking past a few bus stops...you will see a white sign pointing down the slope to Boardwalk. Walk down the small slope. The canal is now right next to you on the left.
When you get to Boardwalk you have a few choices.
1. When you get to the big pool slide at BW, on your right, you can cut thru here. Go thru the pool area and to the tunnel, right at the pool entrance. Go thru and you're on the Village Green. Head toward the boardwalk (left out of the tunnel). Go right and keep walking....Flying Fish will be on the right, the lake on the left. Exit the BW area, and up and over the bridge. Go right and down into Epcot.
Or
2. Keep walking past the pool area, to the end of the walkway. Go right, keeping Atlantic Dance on your left, Jellyrolls on the right. Follow the boardwalk as above....you will have the lake on your left, BW on your right. You will walk the entire length of Boardwalk.
It's really very easy and takes under 20 mins....depends on walking pace.

And if you don't know, once you turn that "corner" after you reach the lake (on Robo's map it will be the first left), there is often a bus stop that says Epcot on it. If a bus isn't there (on very hot days, we've walked right onto a waiting bus), you can wait for a bus to take you to Epcot.

That's true.
But, the bus takes you to Epcot's bus terminal (of course) and that, in itself, is a fair distance from the Epcot front gates.

Then, once inside the front gates, you have to walk to your destination.
If your goal is (many places) in Future World, the front gates can be a good route.
But, if you are headed to most places in World Showcase, it can be an additional very long walk from the front gates.

Guests heading to/from Epcot's World Showcase (much of it) and to/from DHS are well served via the International Gateway and the Friendships or walking.

This is all great info, thank you!!!

I am very much looking forward to a walk from HS to world showcase- will be nice to stroll and relax a bit.

I am thinking of it as a "secret passageway" (although I know it's not a secret!!)

I love a stroll on the boardwalk too, so this is really perfect :)

It may not be secret, but you likely won't have much company. You'll love it :)

Given all the walking already entailed in a day at WDW, I would just take the boat. It takes about the same amount of time (depending on how quickly you walk), but gives your feet a chance to rest.

No matter how much walking we do at Disney we LOVE the walk between the Studios and Epcot. Even last trip when I was not staying at an Epcot resort I made a point of starting out a day at the studios and ending it at Epcot so I could enjoy the peaceful stroll. My family has had so many laughs about our day during this path as well.

How relaxing is that????

Well, the way we look at it is we've already walked approximately eleventy million miles, what's one more! :P Also, if you're obsessed with topping your step count for a day the walk helps with that, too. The walk is also so much more pleasant than those loud, crowded boats.
