Is vinyl allowed on resort window?

Could someone please tell me if you're allowed to put vinyl (similar to vinyl stickers people put in car windows) on the resort windows? It adheres, but is removable with no residue left when taken off. I'd like to put a vinyl castle up for our stay. Thank you!

Sure. As long as there is no residue, that housekeeping has to clean, you should be fine. I've had rooms that had had stuff on the windows, and housekeeping didn't bother to clean it..it was pretty gross.

Thank you, I'd be sure to clean window anyway. I appreciate the response :)

But not at DVC resorts. DVC doesn't want guests putting any decorations that can be seen from the outside of the resort.
And yet, everyone still does it!!! I have no issue with stuff in the windows...vinyl clings for instance. But seriously? All those balconies with strings of lights, or even huge holiday blowups!!! Amazes me.

I actually think the strings of lights are so festive! I've been at the BWV over Christmas a couple times, and it's so cute. We had a little tree with lights on the armoire in the living room, and hung up our stockings with 3M hooks (which fell off the wall a few times - not super good hooks). I put festive clings on the door to the balcony. Tried doing outside lights, but extension cord was too short. But lots of folks had them (and I saw folks checking in, obviously had driven, with boxes containing larger Christmas trees).

At Pop, many folks decorate their windows and doors. It's cute. Long as you don't use tape or anything like that, clings and suction cups are fine!

I also wasn't ever told not to do any decorations that were visible from the outside. I've heard this mentioned, but in all my stays at DVC resorts, only thing I have heard for certain is at AKL/AKV for animals' protection no balloons or things like that.

When I went for Christmas I did a snow scene on the bathroom mirror (it was one of those large flat ones taking up most of the wall). I used those gel cling snowflakes and some tape to put up mini pom-pom snowmen in the corners. No complaints from housekeeping, they cleaned right around it. In fact they started leaving towel animals next to our miniature tree we had on the table. As long as you can take it off when you leave they don't seem to mind.

Are you a DVC Owner? It is on the member website, I think.
Personally I don't think it is festive, I think it is tacky. I love the DVC Resort theme I purchased.
To each their own.

I've seen Christmas decorations, Halloween, birthday, anniversary, wedding. The list is endless. We enjoy seeing the displays and have never seen anything offensive.
I personally want to see the big displays I've heard about at the camping area, having never been there. Sounds so Festive!

I'd prefer seeing the REAL decorations rather than
bathing suits, undergarments and towels strewn about balconies.. I actually think That is very unbecoming to the resort/s and surprised it exists.
Enjoy ur trip!

Where???
I absolutely agree at some places they are fine. Fort Wilderness is well known, and highly appreciated, for festive Halloween & Christmas decorations.
My thoughts are specific to DVC Villas which the owner association requests owners do not do so.

I am not an owner - have booked through Disney and rented via redweek and TUG.

Nothing I've seen is over the top, but the ones with lights and full size trees are obviously owners.

I've never seen bathing suits at Disney. That is something that they do request you don't dry out - it could blow away anyway!

If they send owners a request to not put lights out, they don't do that for ones booked through Disney.

It is only outside that they request not be done at DVC Villas. If owners (or their quests) decorate inside, that is fine

I like decorations...I really do. But...a lot of those balcony displays use extension cords. And that means doors are left cracked open. Which means bugs, moisture, and who knows what, is getting into the room.
Add to that...people get carried away. That works at FtW....but at BWV, not so much. Guests start trying to outdo each other. One nice string of lights becomes ten strings, and a huge blowup Santa. Yes, I've seen it. What started out as kind of nice, turns tacky very quickly.
I have decorations inside my room. I've put the gel and vinyl clings on my balcony door. But, nothing outside.

I did (I also used ticky tac blue stuff to hang up a garland and command hooks to hang up battery operated led lights) and nobody said anything about it except the housekeeper who told me that my window looked cute.

Last year I put cling Halloween decorations on my door. Worked great as all doors look the same and I had no trouble finding my room.
