Is Via Napoli That Popular?

I was able to make my ADR 180 days out for Via Napoli. I went on at 6 AM and there was already some limitation to my dinner time choices. It was 4:30 or 5:45 (I had asked for 5:30).

Taking the 5:45 was no big deal; I was more just interested that there was already a chunk of time that was unavailable. Granted, I am going in early April, but still interesting.

Has anyone else found ADRs tough to get at Via Napoli when going at busy times? Has it become that popular that quickly?

When I made my reservations for our recent trip, there were similar limitations. I thought maybe it was because it is new and they are trying to figure out the flow.

For my lunch, it was just dd5 and me and it took an hour and a half. I noticed the people that came in at around the same time were also there about that long.

I showed up at opening (11:30) and asked if we could be seated then instead of our 12:45 ADR and it was not a problem.

Last week, we checked in at 7pm for our 7:15 ressie. We were seated immediately. Ordered salad and pizzas and 1 kids spaghetti and meatballs.

Our pizza and spaghetti came about 2 minutes after the salad and we were done eating by 7:45. Felt completely rushed out of the place.

As it is new it is popular because people want to see what it is about. Whether or not the popularity continues is still to be determined.
People want to see the "new" anything, so yes it is busy. But there are reports of walkups happening.

The reviews are mixed at this point, so time will tell.

How did your kids like the spaghetti?

This is most likely the reasoning imo. We (being us on here on the DIS) noticed the same thing right when they opened up reservations. Certainly not everyone that day booking slots except for the same times :).

I've been reading that Hacienda reservation timing looks similar as well.

The spaghetti was good. The meatballs were REALLY good. I think there were five or six mini meatballs on the plate. They were definitely homemade and had very good flavor and texture.

We were there for 2 weeks in Sept and when we passed twice, the place only seemed to be half full. Having said that, we dined at Le Cellier (yup, I did book 180 days out!) and there were no reservations available whilst we were there. But....the place was only half full!! Reduced staff and only half of the tables being used. Was the same story at Biergarten later the same week. I think Disney may not be fully staffing at certain times, therefore offering reduced capacity. Still no help to those of you who can't get reservations (sorry, nearly used the word 'ressies' there....oh no, that's another thread!!) but the restaurants are not actually full, they are just full to the capacity designated at that particular time!
