Is Universal worth the money for smaller kids?

We are going to WDW for the first time in February and would like to also visit Universal,mostly to see the Harry Potter area. My only concern is that our 2 youngest are only 41 and 47 inches tall with shoes on. Is there enough stuff for them to do at that age/size or should I just send my oldest and my DH. Do they have a ride swap similar to WDW? I don't want to pay $300 for the 2 kids and I if I spend most of it waiting while the others ride bigger stuff.

Universal Studios
* *Revenge of the Mummy® - Must be at least 48"
* MEN IN BLACK™ Alien Attack™ - Must be at least 42"
* *Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit® - Must be at least 51"


Islands of Adventure
* Jurassic Park River Adventure® - Must be at least 42"
* *Dragon Challenge™ - Must be at least 54"
* *Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls® - Must be at least 44"
* Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges® - Must be at least 42"
* *Incredible Hulk Coaster® - Must be at least 54"
* *Doctor Doom's Fearfall® - Must be at least 52"
* *Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™ - Must be 48"

There's still plenty to do, including the entire Seuss Landing section, Flight of the Hippogriff, and Spider-man at IOA, plus Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, The Simpsons, E.T. Adventure and the rest of Fievel's Playland at USF, among others.

Whether it's worth it is, of course, entirely up to you.

I have a six-yr-old 46 inch-er who enjoys the studios and IOA more than the Disney parks. She likes rides (loves the coasters that she's tall-enough for), but LOVES things she can just run around in and have fun and not have to wait in any lines. Universal has these things in spades -- the climbing area in Jurassic, 'If I ran the Zoo' in Seuss, Fievel's Playground and the Curious George water area at the studios.... so, if your younger kids like that sort of thing, there will be plenty for them to do. Also, as PP said, the rides that cannot accomodate them should be the exception, not the rule. In my opinion, there is still plenty they will love.

Hi, We just got back from taking our 43 inch 3 yearold. I would say it is worth it. Almost all of the rides have the babyswap (I can't recall any that actually didnt have it!)

I will say we "reviewed" the rides and let her look at them on the computer...and rides I thought she would be okay with she refused to do! She didn't do the shrek movie, raft ride, or the ET one. She never really gave me a reason why, and we tried a few times. Even promised treats... LOL! It was okay, because we still kept busy, doing the swap and going on our rides on our own.

Also my daughter has no idea who barney is. I've tried to have her watch im on tv but she doesn't care for him. She LOVED the show. They had a play area the kids could in after the show too..it had a water table thing, sand area, slide/tree house. It was really nice, and the bathrooms right there had mini toliets which my daughter thought was hilarous.


Also in suess land there is a circus restaurant- where sam I am, Cat in the hat, thing 1 and 2 and the grinch come out to do a show and walk from table to table. They have hoola hoops and play with the kids in the center ring/stage area too. My daughter loved this. Also if you do decide to go, Kohls has the Suess books as the kohls cares for kid item so they are 5.00 each. We bought those and read them at night at the hotel to my daughter.

My five year old loved the woody woodpecker kids coaster, I bet we rode that thing 20 times. She like the Shrek Movie, the ET ride the dr. seuss area, she had tons of fun just being in the environment. While her brothers were on the coasters we would go to the gift stores and try on silly hats and stuff. The Simpsons ride about did her in though, if your kids don't like coasters keep them away from that ride.
