We will be going on a MAW trip in Summer of 2009 :wizard: Now, I was wondering, should we give up one of our WDW days to go to Universal/IOA? We have been to WDW before, but not in the summer when it's very hot and crowded, We have never been and after this trip we probably won't be going back to Florida anytime soon. Also, we have been to the Universal in Hollywood. Is the Universal Florida pretty much the same as the one in California? We were originally going to just go to IOA because we heard they were opening a Harry Potter themed area, but it probably won't be finished by the time it's our trip. Would it be possible to go to both parks in one day? Or would it take two? So, what do you think?? TIA

Universal Orlando from what I hear is much bigger than California and think if this is going to be your last trip to florida then I think you owe it to yourself to aleast give Universal 1 day and I think you will be surprised.
The first time I went I was and now hoplessly hooked.:thumbsup2

In the summer, you'll want at least 1 day per park. Also, Universal Florida is considerably LARGER than USH. Just try it, get there early, and go with the "We're going to have fun" mindset. :)

I suggest a day each. I've never been to Orlando in the summer, but I believe that, with the crowds and the heat, it wouldn't be easy to do both in one day.

IoA has lots of water rides (we dared to go on Popeye in December and even though it was a hot day for the season, we didn't need THAT much water), so those should be pretty crowded due to the heat. The rollercoasters and Spider-man should be crowded also as always (specially spidey!). Considering this I doubt that in half a day you can do much in IoA.

US could be quicker, but Simpsons and Disaster! will have opened (oposing to what we saw this december) and the Mummy and MiB should have big lines as well.

This december we did IoA in a day and an early morning and then US in the remainder of the second day.
