Is Trunk Bay really worth it??

For anyone who uses the Passport to the National Parks, there is a National Park stamp available on St. John's, as you enter the Trunk Bay facility, maybe by the dock as well. I would love to go again!

There really are not words to justly describe Trunk Bay ... a little piece of heaven is about as close a description as you can come by.

OMG --- GO TO TRUNK BAY!

Ok I feel better now ... except that I want to go too.

Thanks again everyone!

Here's something I don't get:

How can the beaches at St. John be so different from the beaches on St. Thomas if they are so close??

There is nothing on St. Thomas that is comparable??

I hate to sound stupid here but I've never been to beaches at either place.

Thanks,
Joanne

Do I understand correctly that if you book an excursion through DCL that you are guaranteed back to the ship in time, and if you are late, they will hold the ship for you?

It seems like the time in port at St. Thomas/St. John is limited in that the ship leaves at 1630 - just how long does it take to get to St. John? Can someone break down the drive/ferry time for me? Thanks much :)

I remember having to be in the Magic's theatre at like 730 in the morning to go to Trunk Bay. You have plenty of time because you are up so darn early. It was even a tad chilly on the taxi St John because of the time. Everyone is concerned about the time it takes in travel to get to the ship and back but in my opinion, the scenery you see going to and from is all part of the package and very much enjoyable as well.

Am I alone on this one?

Just think : NATIONAL PARK!

All the beaches we visted on our St. John Island tour were clean with no condos or tons of hotels sitting 3 feet way. Most of the beaches were very secluded with just a few people. Trunk had by far the most swimmers.

If your are just out for a beach day, you might try Hawksnest Bay or Cinnamon Bay to beat the rush at Trunk.
