Im here now and its amazingly quiet. Not the dead days of yesteryear but the fact that i can see substantial pavement and have a 25 min wait for slinky dog midday is pretty darn good.

I'll be happy to report back since we will be checking in this time next week. Sept 6 to 12. I've been waiting for the dreaded TP email that notifies that park hours or crowd levels are changing for your time but so far....nada. Anyway, weather is predicated high 80's...hubby thinks he is going to die, but hey we are from Texas so anything below 90 can't be THAT bad...at least thats what i keep telling myself. i have no clue what a crowd level 1 looks like.

The midday guaranteed showers helps cool things down.

We normally always go to Disney in September. I remember one year we went and Peter Pan had a Zero wait time, on Kai River falls we rode it and then rode it again with no wait. One morning we walked into World Showcase near England and we were the only ones there. It's not like that anymore but ten years ago it was.

Crowds don't bother us, but I am very curious about how it's going to be. After Thanksgiving and MLK weekend we can handle anything lol.

The number is relative. Attendance seems higher. But with proper planning the crowds are a much smaller issue.

Saw last night that the tropics are starting to get active. My son and in-laws go on a cruise in the next couple weeks, so keeping an eye on the Caribbean.

I don't think a lot of people outside of the east coast realize hurricane season lasts so long.

We were there after Labor Day in September of 2006. And we will be back this year.

Both were/are listed as a "1."

But they are very different. Yes, the crowds are less then they are during the summer months. But when I am there in 9 days, I will not be able to walk onto almost any ride. I won't finish my touring plan for the entire park by noon. Both of which I could have done in 2006. It will probably feel crowded to us. But we wouldn't think about going over Easter or Christmas. There will be lines, nothing like a "10" day, but lines nonetheless.

Yes, it is better than any other time during the year. (Other than other "1" days. But it isn't like it was back in 2006.

September 10/11 is Rosh Hashanah (Jewish holiday) and our school district is closed both of those days. I know several people pulling their kids from school Friday the 7th and heading down to Disney.

Yes, it's relative. The levels have been adjusted throughout the years. For instance, a level '1' could still see the peak waits over 60 minutes for some attractions.

A crowd level of 1 hasn't been a ghost town in years. I would say 2008 or 2009, at least.

just checked touring plans crowd calendar for next week. basically all days are a 1 (sept 5-9) and sept 10 a 2 i find it hard to believe during these days that WDW will be a 1 or 2. do they know something i will be happy to see them right on the money but i thought days of 1, 2, 3 are over

The week after Labor Day is typically one of the quietest weeks of the year in the parks. Almost everyone is back in school, and most people don't take vacation during the first few weeks of school.

TP has today as 1s and 2s. Take a look at the wait times. Not much that is a walk on, but wait times are generally reasonable.

They actually have that on TP. They tell you how they did (if they were off and how far).

I’ve opted for an impromptu trip next weekend to take advantage of the low crowd levels and wide open hotel availability. Hoping the low numbers will stay as predicted

Unless we can get the actual counts of visitors from Disney, not much outside of average posted wait times will be objective.
