I bet this has been discussed a kajillion times, but I couldn't find a thread on it. We'll be going in August with me, DH, DS21, DD13 and her best friend. Is Toy Story Mania worth the hassle if you're not child?

We'll be able to do MIB at Universal (which we all enjoy). For comparison, we like Buzz Lightyear, but we wouldn't stand in line more than 15 or 20 minutes for it.

as you're comparing apples to oranges to bananas, the short answer is yes. it's not quite MIB + spiderman, but it's above buzz + spiderman

The 13 year olds may enjoy it, but DH and I didn't. It just didn't do anything for us. We were glad that we had VIP Fast Passes, as they made it a walk on. We might do it again if there were no line :rotfl2: but I doubt it. We didn't much care for Buzz Lightyear, either.

Oh, my, YES!!!!

Then again, I don't think ANY attraction lasting less than 10 minutes is worth a wait of more than thirty minutes.

TSM: WE all LOVED it... ME 42, DH 43, DS 16, DD15, and DD 14....

WE visited July 2008....and did single rider which was offered at the time...

But We had a BALL at this ride!

Both my husband and I really enjoyed it as well as our then 13 year old son. We are looking forward to riding it again next month when we go and to the wii game that will be out in the fall.

Yes! I didn't really care for Buzz Lightyear because I did not like the pull cord control. (Our trip was just prior to postponed shoulder surgery for me.) But I loved Toy Story Midway Mania. We used FP so we did not have a wait of more than 5 minutes. I would have done it again if we could have gotten back on without a long wait. (I celebrated my 64th birthday the following day.) DH also liked it. Almost 11 year-old DGD enjoyed it, her almost 8 year-old sister was sort of neutral.

DF and I LOVED it. We went at an EMH rope drop to get there on time, RAN dodging crowds, and waited about 25 minutes still.... and LOVED it. Seriously, we had the best time there out of probably any other particular attraction.

On my Dec. trip, there were 3 adults and one teenager. All of us LOVED Toy Story Mania. We used Fast Passes to ride it 3 different times.

Our Family loves TSM. We usually do it twice a day. Get in line and get a fastpass in the morning. It is great.

DW and I love it and will definitely be buying the Wii version when it comes out. We wouldn't stand in line longer than 30 minutes for the best ride in the world however.

Right now, I think it's the best ride there. It's doable by all; we were all adults doing it. I had my 88 year old mother with Alzheimer's with me and she scored on it. I was thrilled.

I don't get tired of this ride even with a long wait. I find the queue entertaining with Mr Potato Head. The decor is cool, too.

I do feel fastpass is a must do, here, but to do the ride multiple times you need to do the regular line and fastpass. If your lucky you'll get done with the regular line and then be able to use your fastpass for a second time right away. If you only want to do it once then the fastpass time will be good enough. I had a huge bump in score by doing it a second time.

This is not a passive ride and so it's not appealing to everyone; because, the more you do with the ride the better your score is and you need to make an effort. You have to work on it to get good at it, as well. There are spoilers about this ride and there are tricks that get better points; I haven't used all the tricks yet. You actually do better with a teammate. Some are not willing to put in the effort required for the ride to do really good at the target shooting.

I like this ride very much and I highly recommend trying it.

DH and I may have even enjoyed it more than the kids--and I'm not into video games at home. We couldn't miss it but plan so that we don't have to wait long.

In Feb, at ropedrop we grabbed fastpasses & then waited in standby for about 20 minutes. We then rode startours & saw Muppets while waiting for our second ride FastPass return. We couldn't work out to ride anymore during our trip because we wouldn't be back at Studios on a morning. I don't think I'd want to wait an hour for it...

Yes! My husband and I love it! Definitely recommend going through the regular line once, the theming is fantastic.

In our 60s here and we loved it. I think having a personality that likes to compete gives it a boost. If you liked playing pin ball machines as a kid, this game/ride can be fun. It makes you feel like a kid again.

Since we live here we wouldn't wait 75 minutes for it, but if the line is not out the door, it is usually only about a 45 minute wait at most.

I don't know if it will be worth it for your family, but I can say for certain that I (I'm 40) had every bit as much fun on it as my DS4, and DD13 had.

My DD 14 didn't care that much for TSM. I'm not sure if it was that she couldn't get many points, or she's just not a shooting-gallery type kid, but her favorite part was watching Mr Potato Head talking to oblivious people in line. My DD 18 loved it however. You have to try it to see. We went first thing in the morning so we didn't have to wait too long.

DD25 and I love it! We got there at rope drop 2 different days and did stand by followed by fastpass so we got to do it 4 times. I would have done it more if possible. It's lots of fun!:thumbsup2
