Is today a bad traffic day for your area?

Halloween is historically one of the worst traffic days for Metro Atlanta. Everyone starts leaving around 3pm and it just builds until it is appropriately scary bad.

Not that I know of - but my commute (when I actually have one) is the "wrong way" so I'm not a great judge.

Though our rush hour starts at 3:00 anyway... so there's that. :rotfl:

Traffic is terrible every day in NYC. Today was exceptionally bad due to the president being in town.

I just came back from getting an antibiotic from my local Wegman’s pharmacy. I didn’t even think about it before I left the house. The place was packed. Glad I could get the script & get out of there. Traffic on the roads seemed pretty normal. But was just a few suburban roads, not the highway.

I live in the DMV area. Traffic is bad every day, especially during rush hour. I work from home and didn't have any errands to run so not sure if it's worse than usual today.

I am also in the DMV area and, yes, this day typically has a horrible rush in the afternoon. Everyone who is at work leaves early to get home in time to get dinner then get the kids out. But our traffic patterns have changed drastically with the increase in telework so I'm guessing it's probably going to be okay.

Rush hour starts a little earlier but I don't think it is worse overall. Maybe even a little better because the same volume of people are spread out over a little longer time as parents leave early to get home for trick or treating. But traffic in my neighborhood, which is next to nothing most of the time, will be awful once the sun goes down thanks to the parents who think walking from house to house the way we did when we were kids is too cold or too dangerous for their offspring. Even with the city designating parking lots for the country people who come into town to trick or treat and the cops officially discouraging the drive-along approach, loads of people will be cruising at 5mph and stopping in the middle of the street for kids to hop in and out.

Not sure but I work from home. While out with the kids a truck was doing probably 55 in a 35 at night with kids crossing the street and everything. I stood in the middle of the road at the stop sign so he wouldn't kill any kids. I went up to him and told him he needed to slow down since it was Halloween and he told me to go f myself and floored it (there was another stop sign like 100 yards down the road). This is why more kids are killed by cars on Halloween than any other day of the year.

Yep. But it's a grid here.

When I lived in ATL, I either went home early from work or worked from home. There would be parades down my subdivision, so if I wasn't already home, I couldn't get home.
