Is TIW card worth it for tee-toatler?

I don't drink, but we have always used the TIW card (once it became available to non-Floridans). We have found it to be a great savings, even though the mandatory 18% tip bugs me.

We are going 12-17- 12-27. My kids 10,6 don't finish the kids meals so i don't want to do dining plan for my 10 yr old. we like to have a couple drinks each night at dinner. We were going to buy the AP and visit again next Nov-Dec. Would I benefit from this card??????

Easy to tell - will you spend more than $375 at the table service (and few counter service) places that take it? Then you will benefit.

This is ideal for DVC members who do not want to be locked into the dining plan. One thing we have a problem with is our 9 year old. She sometimes wants a kids meal and sometimes wants filet mignon. Sometimes we share with her and sometimes she gets a whole entree. For flexibility TiW is great.
The next few years make it even more important. She won't eat nearly enough to justify the dining plan so we will stick with APs and TiW.

It used to be that the list of discounts with DVC and APs were long... but it has shortened and turned into mostly 10% and no adult beverages, so TiW has been worth it the last few years to us.

We use it and used the DDE (its predecessor). We do not drink alcohol and get a significant return on the discounts over its cost. I agree with Dean that the break even depends on what other discounts one might already get. But this is widely accepted and since we live here it gets plenty of use. We supplement our DVC and AP discounts in the odd places where TIW is not accepted.

If I buy TIW in November 2009 will it expire December 31, 2010? We're staying at BLT in November and want to take advantage of the monorail restaurants.

I bought mine in November 2008 (the 19th, I think) and it expires December 31, 2009.

Mother's Day is also excluded.

I found that fact out the hard way. Regardless, we've had a TIW/DDE card since there were first offered to DVC owners and we have always managed to get our money's worth.
