is three times on TOT too much?

I never experienced the TOT because last time we went in 2011 my boys were too young. This time we have a chance to do it three times.

On the first trip to DHS we have our three FPs plus those of my wife, daughter, and father-in-law so the boys and I can do it twice in succession by swapping wristbands.

Two days later the boys and I are hopping from AK to DHS after dinner and the three of us have evening FPs for TOT, RnRC, and Star Tours. Should I reconsider the TOT for something else?

What really is the TOT all about? I've watched a YT video from a POV but it's mostly dark and I can't figure out what really happens during the ride.

I love Tower of Terror and ride it as many times as I can at rope drop before the stand by line gets unmanageable. I love the drops because it has a really great butt lift factor!

Tower of Terror is one of my favorites, and I rode it 3 times in one day...so riding it 3 times in one trip wouldn't be too much for me :) But it will depend if you like it! As the previous poster said, if you don't end up liking it you can always change your FP.

It is a free fall type of ride that goes up and down. Each ride is different because the sequence is always random, so you never know how many times you will be lifted and dropped, or how big or small each drop will be.

TOT is probably in my top five rides at WDW, and one day I managed to ride it four times. lol I never get sick of it.

It depends on how you feel about the ride!

I went once in 2010 and nonce in 2014 ;)

Like you, I really really wanted to try it because of all the hype. I found the wait leading up to the drop TERRIFYING and not in a fun way- from once I entered the hotel part of the queue all the way until the first drop, I was stressed and scared.

Be warned that the theming is very intense and they want you to be as scared as possible. Some people find it fun, I was shaking and some girl on the ride with me threw up as soon as she got off :scared1:

The ride itself is fun, but all that "scare" isn't my cup of tea ;)

I will say that while the ride did not scare DD15, the theming creeped her out to the point that she wouldn't get on it two years later. She says next trip she will, though.

We ride this ride as many times as possible! No that's not true, my dh and girls ride this as many times as possible. I wait in the store or on the bench by the photos and listen for their giggling as they come out! Its one of my favorite Disney memories.

We had 2 nights at DHS, and spent both nights closing down ToT riding it until they wouldn't let us get back on. In addition to that, we also rode it at RD one day on standby, and had fastpasses for it on 2 other days. It is one ride I will never get tired of. So no, 3 is not too many.

My kids rode it 13 times in about 2 hours between 8 and 10 pm last June. The line gets really short after the majority of park guests start lining up for the early presentation of Fantasmic. I did it 4 or 5 times then spent the rest of the evening on a bench watching them run by.

If you love thrill rides ... its awesome. My son LOVES TOT. We ride it as many time as we can every time. Everyone is different though so you can decide how you feel after your first ride. ENJOY!

It's DD's favorite ride! Last March we rode it 3 times in just over an hour, and she would have happily kept going if we had been able to get more FPs.

My DD's don't like roller coasters, but loved TOT. Go figure.

BTW, I loved that the CM's at the FP entrance play up the make up and looked like a young Lurch and Wednesday Addams.

Love the ride.

It is a drop ride, but very different than the drop rides at other parks. You are in a cage whose speed can be controlled--and they do random . Sometimes you drop first, sometimes you to up first. And drop counts can vary.

Love love love this ride.
