My DH & I just sat around clipping coupons this afternoon & we both had such a nice time. This is a chore I absolutely detest but clipping coupons with my DH was a fun event today. Do I need a life? :o

What simple little thing do you do with your spouse that makes your day more enjoyable?

***Please keep this family oriented!*** :teeth:

Well...we don't do much anymore...Been married almost 19 years and we seem to have lost that magic.
Not that we will get divorced or anything, it's just hard to find time to do anything together.

We occasionally take the dog for a run together. But, the boys go along.

Sometimes we get up early together to spend a few minutes together, but I swear our kids have radar!! They wake up almost immediately.

Oh well....

Lisa

Going to the grocery store. We almost always go as a family and we enjoy ourselves. We help keep each other in check as far as junk food goes!

Oh yeah....we almost always go to the grocery store together. That's a "fun" event for us too. We do all our errands together on Saturday & then we go to church Saturday evening or Sunday mornings. We have 2 kids & they do keep us very distracted but maybe we find clipping coupons together "fun" because we still consider ourselves to be "newlyweds." We've only been married 9 years.

We're doing it right now actually....no, not that!....hee hee, I'm DISing and he's playing a video game next to me on the big screen. Sometimes I'll stop and read him a particular post or he will ask me to help him reason out a hard spot in his game. Both the kids are out at friends houses and it's just us. Very quiet and nice evening. We also like to get the local paper and plot out a map of yardsales and/or flee markets and we have a great time trying to find them all even if we don't find anything to buy.

Hmmm .. hard one, but I'll have to say ... touching feet in bed. Don't know why but after 25 years I still love it. Guess it's 'cause that's how the day starts and the day ends.

Is this weird?

Sounds like you have a very nice one. :)

We love to read the Sunday papers together...... NY Times and Boston Globe. Each of us spontaneously offers our own commentaries about a host of stories. Our 6 year old is the primary coupon cutter for the family :D

Silky ~ your 6 y/o sounds pretty thrifty! Cuts coupons....sells artwork on transatlantic flights & makes $10! Can I borrow your 6 y/o? :teeth:

Thanks, Mishetta:D. Actually, I'm hoping that the really "big bucks" will start rolling in with Cameron's lemonade stand:jester: ......

DW and I have been married 23 years and we still start each day with a cuddle and end each day with a kiss, so it is possible to keep the magic.:sunny:

As to unpleasant chores that doing together makes pleasant: grocery shopping - I push the cart, she tosses in the food; laundry - I sort, wash and dry, she folds and puts away; and cleaning out the garage every spring and fall - always turns into a giggle-fest.

Mishetta, Clinton Township, MI here - what Detroit suburb are you? Maybe it's something in the water! :jester:

 Hi Dr. Tomorrow...it must be something in the water, since I'm next door in Sterling Heights! Of course, things might change in our relationship since we're not allowed to drink the water right now!! :teeth: ;)

We also start & end each day with a kiss. DH wakes me each morning to kiss me goodbye as he leaves for work. I also wash, dry & sometimes fold laundry & DH either folds (when I don't) & he puts away.

This thread is just giving me the warm fuzzies!

That is sweet ! We seem to like to pair socks together ( we have a million so we dont pair them often enough LOL) we always let the basket get really full then sit and talk and pair . Now that is sad !

What a great thread! I love it! :)

Taking a bike ride after dinner and waking up earlier then the kids on the weekends and enjoying our coffee together.

we fight over the fan in our bedroom:D

Here it is Sunday & my DH & I folded clothes together & we went to the cemetery (with the kids) & although my DH doesn't feel the need to visit my Mom's grave, he always takes me & he'll entertain the kids so that I can take all the time I need.

Sounds like most of you have a wonderful relationship, where the simple things can make you happy. :)

Kteacher ~ hopefully you're "playfully" fighting over the bedroom fan. ;)

Like the Silky family, we also read the Sunday paper together. We get the Washington Post and the New York Times and Sunday mornings are always spent in a pile of newspaper. :)

Forgot the Sunday paper.

We get two or three Sunday papers (:( for the trees) and climb into our king-size bed along with whatever cats want to lay on the papers we're reading:D .

Yes, Mishetta, I agree that it is the simple things - because those are the one's that endure over the years.
